It might not have mattered if Mark Stone played tonight for the Golden Knights. Simply put: With or without their star, they didn’t stand much of a chance against the Flames.

Playing for the second straight night on the road, Vegas surrendered three goals in a 10-minute span of the first period against host Calgary in being blanked, 6-0.

“They dominated us from start to finish,” said defenseman Brayden McNabb. “They embarrassed us and they deserved to win that one like they did.”
Quote:
This was only the third time the Golden Knights have ever lost by at least six goals. Two of those have come inside the Flames’ Scotiabank Saddledome.

“It’s not the building that’s tough to play in. I think they’re a good home team and we’re the same way a little bit, too,” Marchessault said. “Obviously back-to-backs are hard on the body and stuff like that, but it’s no excuse for us. Good teams find a way to win, and tonight we weren’t good.”

Wow. Seeing the flames embarrass this instant-success franchise was truly special. Almost as good as embarrassing the oilers. What was the Vegas D doing tonight? Horrible. Were they partying on whyte ave last night? We’ll take it.

That doesn’t even count as one of the 6 goal losses.

Oilers lose to a bottom feeder. Flames destroy a top team. Sportsnet: let’s focus on the Habs hiring a new coach.
If the oilers beat the knights 6-0 that’d be the top story for 48h.

6-0 creaming of the top pacific team + "Tkatuck" goal

Sportsnet: Nothing to see here.

Impressive win for the team. Didn’t think Vegas came to play though, very out of character game for them just like that St Louis game a few weeks back. Glad the schedule is back to normal so we don’t have to sit through anymore long breaks between games. Should be a wild couple of months. Toronto was a heck of a challenge last time we saw them, very curious to see how this game plays out.

Calgary wins.

Edmonton and Vancouver lose.

That is what I call a perfect night.

Very impressive game for the Flames. They have blown out quite a few top teams this year: NYR, Florida, St. Louis and now Vegas.

Really great to see the secondary scoring come from the 2nd line. If mid-season Backlund keeps playing like this, it will be like found money.

What can you say about Johnny and Matthew? They're gonna get paid this offseason!!!!

4 home games in a row, 3 against top teams...at some point we need to realize the Flames are forcing them to play this way for the most part

Johnny and Chucky have combined for the most goals in the NHL this season. Even more than the duo of hacks up north. With way less icetime too.

Edit: Combined, as in both of them involved in the same goal, not just adding individual goals scored.

Spoiler!

Now THAT was a satisfying win! Pounding a team that has been a thorn in the Flames' side since their inception. Big statement game from the entire team! And Markstrom with 8 (!) shutouts, WTF?? He's gonna break Kipper's record isn't he? He's gonna god damn do it .

Damn....

Yet another night of the Flames winning and 0ilers losing

Flames lead the league in G/A. In Sutter we trust!

Thinking back on previous games against the Knights, I was used to seeing MAF stand on his head and the Flames losing a frustrating one. Tonight Markstrom did that in a win against the Knights and MAF did that against the Oilers for good measure.
