Absolutely no doubt about it, in either scenario, as far as I’m concerned.
Within the rules or not, they held him out to gain a competitive advantage. It may not make them cheaters but it makes them even bigger pieces of #### than I already thought they were.
|
That's it for me, too. I'm not interested in the "was it legit" debate. Sports is just about hating and liking teams and players, and this is enough for me to hate them more than I already did.
They'll likely win the Cup and they absolutely should as they have a nearly $20mil higher payroll playing for the Cup than anyone else. That sucks regardless of whether they could or should have done it.

Would be surprised if this went to 6 or 7 games.

Habs win game 1 and lose the next four.

I think Tampa takes it...I would have taken them over Vegas too. They are up a level from the three teams the Habs have beaten IMO. It's crazy that Montreal was a post away from losing in 5 games in round one...or one Flames win away from missing.

Teams exceed the "annualized" salary cap with trade deadline acquisitions all the time. You'd have to factor that in somehow.

Need to play 5 games to be playoff eligible would fix most of this IMO
I mean the good beer leagues do it to keep the ringers out. (Thanks for costing me the beer league championship Ty Rattie)

That's exactly what I was thinking, but 10 games, or 10% of the 82 game schedule so essentially 8 games.

^ any games in any league? Or are you saying we would have had to bench Johnny his first playoffs had they made it? Caulfield can’t play in the playoffs?

I meant games played in the NHL during the regular season - but good point Scroopy...would suck if Caufield couldn't play! nevermind then! lol
edit: didn't he play 10 games tho?
or perhaps make it so that any player coming off LTIR has to play 5 games?

Caulfield played exactly 10 games. All while Price and Gallagher were on LTIR.

NHL games, and make it so ELC players are excluded from the rule.
