Actually, if you want scoring, those players names are Lazar and Rychel. Go ahead, look it up

I thought Bennett was one of the better Flames tonight. Great backcheck in the first and had two of the more dangerous chances for the Flames.

Gaudreau was pretty good but the grease defended well, I thought Lindholm and Tkachuk were solid as well, though they weren't spectacular.

Monahan was his usual ghost self but unless he's getting pucks fed to him that's all he ever is.

I thought Janko was playing very timid, especially early when the grease were running around. Kassian got him with a late hit early and he was tentative after that. He's a big guy, there's no need for him to be scared.

Hathaway was probably my favorite Flame up front tonight, one huge hit and some great defensive work. Peluso was ok and served his purpose.

Ryan was himself, i.e. bad, same with Neal. Exhibit A and B of why it pays so much to draft talent yourself rather than pick up some other team's castoffs. Quine was pretty much just out there and I honestly can't even think of who played as the 12th forward. Oh right, Mangiapane. He looked fast and I think he had one good chance.

The defense was ok, though I thought Hamonic had his worst game in a while, lots of soft giveaways.

From the grease, McLoser was fast and did enough to get the win I suppose. I still laugh whenever I look at the Draisaitl contract, he's so average. The tenderness was just a guy.

The rest of their guys could have all swapped jerseys with each other for all that I noticed. Just interchangeable cogs in the machine. Works real well for a trap system.

They gave it a good shot running on low fumes. They know they are better than this and will be against Philly. Not really losing sleep but as others have said I wouldn't mind more depth scoring adds by BT. If he can add some more punch or if Neal can get going the team looks good and I'm happy with what I'm seeing. The D is deep but offense is showing cracks when the first line isn't going.

Flames dominated in the face off circle tonight. Everyone was over 50%. Lindholm was 7-2 78%.

Their top 4 forwards score plenty of goals. The rest of the forwards not so much.

still need to rid the gulatzan stench off this team when it comes to the Oilers. the great coach that he is always had the team play so tentatively against the power house that is the oilers. old habits die hard

Quite the contrary actually, we play them again on our third game in four nights and second night of a b2b. They come into the game with two days off.

Nah, did he score? He doesn't use his line mates, still doing ineffective trick again and again. I see him great energy player with little bit skill.

Avalanche and Jets up next for the Oilers. I look forward to seeing how this amazing defense holds up

Thought Flames played well after 3 games in 4 nights and without Gio and Backs. Oilers rested with a healthy line up barely got out alive they looked like crap.

If we are a true playoff team then this shouldn't bother anyone. The Oilers are a weak ass one player team. There's no rest for anyone heading into June. Losing by 1 to a non-playoff joke team is not a huge letdown, even without a full healthy lineup, we'll take them on average. It happens.

I'll dig up my real McDavid voodoo doll and work my magic on it, we might be playing 3 games in 4 nights again, they will be without McDavid due to injury.

I usually hate losing to the Oilers but considering the circumstances around this game I'm not even mad. Time to start a new winning streak!

When tired team meets offensively challenged 90s-00s trap system team..

The trap is only good when you're winning with it. Even then, you get basically a few minutes of real excitement per game.

That's going to be torture for them when the wheels fall off. Edmontonians should get some other hobbies lined up for spring.

I watched the game with my buddy and we set the over/under for Peluso ice time at 4:37. He took the under and won.

I know its bad for us but its hilarious that every Pacific team that played today won and the Oilers made basically no ground in the division.

Ducks, Knights and Canucks all W's

Bennett played hard but Tkachuk really needs some more talent playing with him. It’s a shame that Neal is phoning it in so far.
