Just noticed that Derek Ryan is Mormon. He's going to be the most chipper up-beat team dad we've had!https://twitter.com/DerekAllenRyan |

These aren't sexy signings but so nice to see us bring in a couple right shots and Ryan's face-off prowess might be worth this contract alone.

Ryan at 3.1M is fine. Ryan, Brouwer, and Frolik at 12M, over multiple years, is a big problem.

I hope there is a plan to unload Brouwer this offseason, but that is probably unlikely. I think we’ll need to unload Frolik next summer too, which will be a difficult task if he puts up another season like 17/18.

That this is 3 years is saves it for now.
I'm sure the player wanted 4.
Hope this works well |

True. But Lindholm is a very good penalty killer.

Well the Flames haven’t been the poster boys for success, so maybe they are right and not just whining ?

For a team that has been a huge failure for the past 20 years, being sceptical is pretty understandable

While true it is such a negative and incomplete way of looking at things
The current management had nothing to do with past failure
Assess them on their own merit

Since when is whining laudable behaviour in any circumstances?

Whining is whining. It is juvenile and tiresome.

Did I miss when current management became successful ? 4 playoff games won in 3 seasons is successful ?

Hrdina didn't call them successful necessarily just to assess them not by the reputation of their predecessors

I was happy with the Frolik signing. Wasn’t disgusted by the Brouwer signing. Frolik has produced, while Brouwer has done jack squat(one of the worst FA signing in flames history)

This Ryan deal, I am in between. Not excited and not happy. I am skeptical however, especially since the majority of Canes fans didn’t like how much Peters relied on him. As well it seemed they had no issues with letting him go. I’ll do an eye test before anything.

Yeah, I am generally satisfied with Frolik. Not a homerun signing, but not bad either. I loved the deal at the time. I also liked adding Brouwer at the time, but not at the price. It has of course not been a great signing.

I really don't know where to stand on the Ryan signing yet. Seems like a lot of money and a risky signing, but as always, best to wait and see.
