Any owners there?

Any noteworthy remarks?

Or just lame fun

I don't hate him either, in fact I quite like the man. But he's simply not an NHL caliber coach IMO doesn't have the chops for it.

Yup. You know who are sometimes likeable? Guys whose ceilings are NHL assistant coaches. Also a few billion other earthlings

Maybe add a new GM that isn't afraid to do a trade during the season when you're worst fear come true. everyone across the hockey world knew this team needed a RW scorer more than the $26 million spent on defense, a real GM would have fired Brodie into the sun at game 30 when some other GM could be fooled.

And a real coach wouldn't have ruined Brodie's worth by playing him where he's not comfortable.

Coach,GM and blowhard Burke can all go, this team isn't going anywhere with them

He will own this and he will blame himself.

Just as he has done in the past.

I wish we had more grit and character like his across the entire team. And within the coaching staff for that matter.

If everybody aspired to exhibiting the same determination and outlook as Smith has done, we aren’t in this situation in the first place.

He has been one of the very few positives I can identify from our 2017-18 Calgary Flames.

The Flames.

From a purely practical viewpoint, a top talent would be drafted out of the Conference.

Playing for this sanctimonious fan base (with a few exceptions)? He’d get torn to shreds on this board.

Amen, Blabbermouth Ken King needs to go as well. Quenville is the kind of experienced coach with a good track record we need.

Aha! It all makes sense now with your views on the arena discussions.

I thought the Flames were the better team for the first 30 minutes or so, they totally shut down the Sharks and instead of 3-2, it should have been more like 4-1.

Then 3 things happened: the 5 on 3, the horrible third goal, and the Flames predictable collapse as a result of the first two.

Earlier in the year, maybe you stick with your goalie. At this point in the season you have to do something. You have to make the change and you have to say or do something to re-ignite the team.

Nothing. Nothing until 6-3 when it was too late.

This game was on Smith and the fragility of the team.

But those things happened, and the whole disappointing season happened, because Gulutzan stood there and let it.

With this loss, our chances went from slim to ‘need a miracle. No easy schedule ahead either. Especially if the talk is that we have to win eight of the last ten and still have help from other teams. Four games we should win (Arizona twice, Oilers, bluejackets) but the other six games are Vegas twice, Jets, then SJ, ducks, Kings. All three of the California teams have had our number.
While you cannot pin everything against GG he has to go. I was at the game last night sitting behind the flames bench and when things were going from bad to worse you would expect a coach who has the room would be communicating, vocalizing and engaging his players. Nope. GG was quiet, with his head down watching his screen. Not good.

Out of curiosity would you care to elaborate? It would be nice to know how they are feeling about the debacle of this season.

Maybe they just wanted to save on expenses and just not send anyone to the draft.
