its not that they can't lose ... but its not a shoulder shrugger either. its a bad sign when you lose to a team like the Sabres at home with an effort like that.

Heck even Gio said they need these points.

On pace for 31 points on the year. 3 less goals than this time last year after being switched to wing for the last ~25 games.

Extreme hot-cold player. Even his 18 goal 36pt rookie season was like that.
The flashes he shows and the edge he plays with makes it too hard to give up on him though. I do agree though he needs to pick it up

Very disappointing effort. Half the lineup is playing like they’re still on vacation. Mike Smith earned us these 2 points and this team owes him big in the next couple games. Monahan and Ferland were invisible tonight and that’s too bad because Johnny came to play. The 3rd line also looked pedestrian tonight and it looks like they’re back into another scoring funk. If this uninspired play continues, then it’s probably a good thing the All Star break is coming up.

We wouldn’t be as good. If we didn’t have Johnny Gaudreau we wouldn’t be as good.
Regardless I was clearly, very clearly, responding to the guy who made a point of saying that if we had horrible goaltending like in 15/16, we wouldn’t be in the playoffs, just hilariously bad analysis

Of course he says that...fact is you aren't gonna get every point
Game is over, take the point and move on...a win over LA would be massive

Two very similar horrible coached and played games back to back.
Boys you are not on your NHLPA vacation still and Gully you are not on Jim Rome. Everyone needs to wake the hell up.

Gulutzan... Every time i gain a little respect for him he does something so blatently stupid 80% of us who are not even professional hockey coaches can see is going to go badly. Double shift Brouwer in ot... Shorthanded... For 3 draws. Really? His loyalty to Brouwer and Stajan this year is mind boggling.

Absolute stupidity by coaching staff to keep Brouwer out for the whole penalty kill in OT. How can Gully be that stupid. Brouwer losing all 3 faceoffs, but hard to blame him being he is not a center. Stone looks great on the PK, but Brouwer basically skated around not forcing anything. Bad, bad coaching.

I never made any such claims, never said they would suddenly become better or worse on the road. You said:

this result, the ugliness of this game isn't any indication of what we will be seeing come April.

Meaning the Flames will be much better at the Dome in April. As for not remembering this game, maybe maybe not. We could look back and say if only we had got that extra point.

Dell's basically a backup, and Crawford will likely be out for the rest of the season... meaning there's no reason why Smith shouldn't be in serious consideration for the Vezina.

But juuuuuuust not quite good enough for the all star team.......

Well thanks for putting words in my mouth, because I never said anything about the Flames being much better on home ice. Nothing even close.

Flames did not deserve two points and Gulutzan doing Gulutzan things* made sure of that in overtime. C'mon man.
Backlund with the goat horns -- chintzy call by the ref knowing it's going into overtime and having just called a questionable penalty on Stone, but hard to argue when he literally grabbed the guys stick so he couldn't tip the shot.
* If it was one of the assistants making that decision, Gulutzan should be telling Treliving to fire them immediately.
