The bulletin board material going forward should be that line change. Cant believe they rushed the play on that 5 on 3 and never set up

Seriously you guys who are trying to take the positives out of this are unreal. It's not good enough to say "oh, we hung around to the end". Who gives a ####? They haven't won a game in Anaheim in 11 years! There is no damn excuse for a run this bad. Flames need to get out of their own heads, nut up and go out there and will themselves to a win and prove that they belong in this series. If they don't, the Ducks will continue to walk all over them. Enough of this already.

The curse lives for another day. So f'n frustrating.

Flames beat themselves in this game and completely wasted an excellent performance by Elliott. I thought they looked good for long stretches in the 1st and most of the 2nd period, and they seemed to take over when they took the 2-1 lead. Unfortunately that idiotic line change took the wind out of their sails and completely wrecked their focus. Things just seemed to snowball from there with all the stupid penalties, and they just couldn't recover.

The lack of urgency in the 3rd when only down by a goal was pretty telling. Flames looked way too tentative and played like they were afraid to make a mistake. Their inability to capitalize on the 5 on 3 was incredibly disappointing.

The good:
Elliott
Ferland
Versteeg
Gio
Stone
Monahan

The bad:
everyone else.

Need a much better game from everyone on Saturday if they want a hope in hell of earning a split. And fer f--- sakes, stay out of the damn box. Otherwise, this series is gonna be over in 5. (Flames will win at least one game at the Dome)

No, but every team has a pile of loud fans crying about the officiating. In every single sport. Refs have always been scape goats for fans.

Yes, the reffing was terrible as per usual. Bad calls can go both ways and still be bad calls. Is this a difficult concept to grasp? Serious question.

Moral victories are meaningless at this point. Until they win a game in that barn all the woulda, shoulda, couldas do nothing for us. Win there Saturday or it's over.

Honestly this loss feels so much worse because the Flames could have absolutely won it. Not that they should have, but they keep taking great steps forward and then shooting themselves in the foot. At some point you have to hope that stops.

Stopped skating, stopped hitting. Pucks in skates, passes were sloppy.

Given the amount of penalties they took, they did well to be in a position to tie it in the 3rd. They win game 2.

Anaheim changed how they were playing in the 3rd drastically to a trap style.

Flames can beat them.

By far a superior team? They certainly weren't tonight. Pretty even game , even despite the Flames' penalties and lane change gaffe.

Clean up those errors, and play the same way, they likely win the series.

Props to Carlyle. He schooled Gulutzan tonight. I don't mean that as a slight to Gulutzan who was coaching in his first playoff game. It was simply a veteran coach knowing how to outmaneuver his opponent. Flames looked prepared to play the same Ducks team they faces in game 81 but the Ducks played a tight, disciplined game instead. As a team they all went down incredibly easy when there was any sign of obstruction and the Flames obliged by slashing, grabbing, contacting players without the puck making it too easy for the officials.

Really well coached and played by the Ducks but the game was still there for the taking and in incredibly stupid line changed pretty well sealed the teams' fate. I mean seriously you are going to wait until game 83 of the season to try a five player line change? That simply can't happen in the playoffs and Engelland needs to look in the mirror tonight.

I would like to see GG have Lazar draw in next game.....maybe on the third line with Bennett and sit Chiasson.

Yeah I don't really understand the out coached comments. Bad discipline was the problem, and that is on individuals making poor decisions.

That's right. Flames really need to put together a flawless game to walk out of that hell hole with a win. If it does happen, it'll win them the series. Half the dominance the duck have over the Flames is the confidence they have of not being beat at home. Shake that mentality and they'll fall.

No, this current team hasn't won in Anaheim in 3 tries. What happened before with different teams, with different players and different coaches doesn't mean a lick. What does the 07 team with Huselius and Langkow and others have to do with this team in Anaheim? Nothing.

People need to stop worrying about the "curse". It's a weird stat for this team's history. I have a hard time believing that anyone in that dressing room is talking about it like the media/fans are.
