The Army doesn't want them using the Black Knights name, so it would have to be just Knights or nothing. Apparently, they're going with nothing.

I hadn't heard that the Army didn't want them to use it. But I still doubt anyone would think they are at all affiliated.

So Foley would need to acquire that domain name.
Considering the expansion fee he's already paid, I would quess the fee to acquire that domain name would be peanuts in comparison.

Also, I know it'll likely stay city themed, but I really like Nevada Nighthawks too.

For some reason I really like the name Arachnids. Opens all kinds of doors with such things as marketing. Sure there could be some awesome designs of a terrifying spider worked in with webbing for jerseys. I have a bunch of crazy ideas to push the theme further.

Bill Foley told a Las Vegas newspaper that besides these three "Hawk" names they are considering 2 other names.

He won't reveal the names yet as the paperwork for officially trademarking the names have yet to go through.

Hope they keep Vegas in the name, vs. Nevada. The fact that this team will play in LV is about the only thing interesting about them.

I can understand the annoyance of all these Chicago fans with talk of various forms of 'Hawks'. Why not annoy Montreal fans instead and call the team the Las Vegas Re-Habs.

When I think "Nighthawk", I don't think of a bird –#I think of someone up at 3 AM up to something. So for me it totally ties into Vegas / gambling all the rest of it.

So far I only like the Las Vegas janets.

Are we done with nationality specific names this century? How about the Las Vegas Italian flying rhinos in honour of bugsy Segal?

Or the Las Vegas jaunty blazers.

Anything but an animal, or piece of military equipment, or natural phenomenon. Please.
Okaaaaay Fine.

Sorry, why? What does the Army have to do with it?
