Man I don't know, Hartley seemed quite certain Ramo would be back very quick. But how you send a guy back to the farm after stealing a game like that?

So you're saying Heinz thinks it's cheaper to go around trucking old ass tomatoes from all over the ####ing place to make ketchup than just growing their own cheapass fruit? Maybe that's the case but it would be completely stupid.

Wideman made the neutral zone play leading to the only goal.
Than that Canuck punk shot the puck at him and his foot is clearly started bothering him at that point.

Btw, anyone else remember the allegations 10 years ago that te Canuks were intentionally shooting at Yelle?

Anyway, enough debby downer. Ride Ortio while he is hot and give Hiller time to get his stuff together.

I don't think this stuff is Debbie Downer at all--if we are going to take the next step, we need to have a consistent and effective powerplay. You are bang on with that.

With respect to the three D-men you list, my thought is that Russell is probably more a #4 D-Man, who needs a more consistent partner. Wideman plays somewhere between Phil Housley the first time around, and Phil Housley the second time around.

And we need to improve the bottom pairing. As weird as it sounds, I'd be willing to keep Diaz around as 6/7, but jettison Engelland, and--as much as it pains me--Smid.

So, good win for sure, but bigger picture-wise, you are right to suggest these as key improvements to be made!

Ortio was solid. No flop. No Rattle. Just solid.
I'm also so happy for Backlund. The guy has been all heart since he first became a Flame and had a real crappy deal when it came to injuries.

I can't say many players deserve better fate, but he certainly has. Good for him!

 Digging the JG Backlund line.
