ya, those last 2 games will be huge! I unfortunately won't get to watch either of them I don't think. Makes me sad.

So 10 games remaining and flames sit at 84 points. 6-4 gets them in or a combination there of. Pretty doable if you ask me.

LA losing home games is very helpful. They are in big trouble with 3 home games left.

It's LA though. Their window is shutting fast, but it's still not closed.

I ain't counting them out till it's over.

Yeah, until they go on a 5 game road winning streak or something ridiculous like that. I hope I'm wrong, but it's the way they operate.

LA's window is wide open until we put space between us and them. That is why the point we gave away today hurts so much. However, given how the OOT is going to be a disaster, yet again, we got the result we needed most out of the LA-Vancouver game.

Yes, at this point our biggest hope is for LA to falter.

Winnipeg continues to win against all odds.
Minnesota is the best team in the West since mid Jan, and not slowing down.
Vancouver keeps getting it done and are ahead of us.

So it's between us and LA unless one of the above three teams somehow goes on a 3+ game slide, which is highly unlikely.

I don't like that we are duking it out with the defending champs, but heck.....just happy to be where we are at this point given the circumstances.

I told my buddy in Tampa that I blame Kucherov for the Jets resurgence. They were already on the canvas being counted out when that idiotic boarding penalty changed that game and gave them renewed energy.

And though I picked these games four months ago, my eastern road trip is shaping up to be three mammoth games... Caps at Habs, Caps at Sens then Jets at Wild. Going to be a crazy week for hockey.

Tampa has been terrible for us.

They were the team that let the Kings off the mat a while back too. LA was in real trouble after losing to the Panthers, then they manage to beat the "contenders" from Tampa and that started the 9 game win streak......the Bolts lost to them in LA again a week or so later as well.

And as far as the Canucks go, if the succeed in collecting the free square on the bingo card tomorrow, they might be free and clear.

Actually the point we "got" today was very importaint between us and LA, they now need to be 3 points better down the stretch in order to beat us. we own the tie-break.

Yup, it has come down to hoping we put some wins together and watch the Kings fall hard.

LA has a very tough road trip coming up. 5 away games in a row, and 4 of those are against the Rangers, Islanders, Hawks and Wild.

Anything can happen of course, but I'd much rather be in our position than theirs.

Not to make anything worse, but the LA 5 game road trip is not as hard as it seems. They start with Devils, then 2 tough games against NY's. The final 2 games are against Minny and Chicago. Unfortunately both hosting teams play the night before. Not only are they playing the night before, but the 2 teams they are playing are flames and Jets. Could see Minny and Chicago being very tired for the LA games. Won't be surprised if LA goes 4-1 for their road trip.

I would rather they play bubble teams instead of teams firmly in, only the Wild will be very hungry.

Since the last update the Flames have gone 1-0-2, picking up four points in three games. That's a 109 point pace, yet somehow many think the sky is falling. Including game 71 they are 2-0-2 in their last four. The red snake has been above the black snake for the last two games, and five games out of the last eight.

There are 8 games left and the Flames need 9 points in them to reach the 96 point mark. They are a combined 15-5-2 against the remaining eight opponents, which is a 119 point pace. To hit 96 points they'd need to go 4-3-1. I believe that's doable. If some of those wins are against the teams they are fighting for, 96 should be enough. If they continue to dominate Edmonton and Arizona, they need to go 2-3-1 in the other 6 games. If you gave me that option at the beginning of the year, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat.

@ Minnesota 0-1-1
@ Nashville 2-0-0
@ Dallas 0-1-1
@ St. Louis 0-2-0
@ Edmonton 4-0-0
vs Arizona 4-0-0
vs Los Angeles 3-1-0
@ Winnipeg 2-0-0

Let's make the playoffs. Go Flames Go!
