Still reminds me of one of Brian Mulroney's fire side speeches when he was a prime minister.

Wearing a sweater, fire burning in the back ground, looking ernestly and sincerely at the camera while he said in a soothing voice.

"Its not your money, its not my money, its our money"

I love money more than the things it can buy... but what I love more than money is spending taxpayers money - Alison Redford

I am impressed that she apologized. It is the first time that I can recall her apologizing for a mistake.
I am not really certain how she made it this far in life without realizing that chartering planes and booking last minute one way first class travel was expensive though. Maybe she thought the tickets would be purchased from selloffvacations.com.

The apology means nothing to me, she knew she was cornered after her dismal failure in throwing everyone else under the bus and then claiming ignorance which is ludicrous at the best.

This is equivalent to a guy that runs someone over with a car while drag racing and becomes sorry as he's staring at the judge and the family he destroyed. The crocidile tears come out, the lower lip trembles a little bit and in a sad child like voice you hear "I'm sorry"

Redford got real sorry real fast when she realized that nobody was buying what she was saying.

But the apology is empty to me, she could make up ground by paying the difference between her and her assistants travel expenses and a normal travel expense. That would go a long way towards gaining a bit of credibility.

I'm sure that right now more then half of her party are praying that she leaves politics when the next election is called, because the PC's are looking down a very deep well, and maybe its one that they need to fall into.

I find it interesting that most media sources refer to it as a private 'jet' that redford took to Ottawa, when it was a KingAir turbo prop. Just seems like somewhat intentional misleading...ie picturing Redford in a Gulfstream 5 living it up to ottawa. Having flown in KingAir's on numerous times to SE Sask and NEBC for work, I would much rather take a commercial flight to Ottawa anyday then fly cross country in a turbo prop.

I haven't seen the term private jet used as much as direct charter or something to that effect.

She rented a plane

The KingAir we took had leather recliners and a full bar...it was better than first class. They have many different interiors.

What's worse about all this is when polls open, what am I going to do? Vote for the liberals or NDP? I might as well not show up. This province has such ridiculous voting bias that the only parties with a chance are the PC's or the Wildrose. The WR party is about as enticing to me as voting for a glass tube being inserted into my urethra.

You say this as if he is the only one.

I could scroll though and political thread here and without reading the posts, guess which side of the discussion about 80-90% of the posts support just by looking at the user name.

Some people are far more blatant at it than others, but there is almost always a bias. If anything, this thread has far more left leaning /Alberta PC party supporting posters being critical of Redford and far more right wing, WRP supporters being dismissive of some of her actions than I ever remember seeing before.
