It was too loud to only be the opposition crowd imo, esp seeing the highlights and the amount of red vs yellow. And I was at the Montreal and Leafs games earlier on with larger foe crowds. Unless the radio audio was misleading. As the OP said too, there were people booing the blocked EN shot? There must have been some phoneys out there tonight, no doubt.

Lol honestly when I saw that sign my first thought was "that may be the lamest sign at any sporting event in the history of the world".

No... not sure where that idea even came from or what you're even trying to say here.

Using the logic from your other post I could say that since he rang it off the post twice and the game could have been 3-0 at one point, that the loss was all Cammelleri's fault. Just as much of a stretch as your claim that it's all on Berra. The entire team got outplayed in the third.

Even if he was -8 he would still have been the 3rd star.

Summary of the game : Good teams find ways to win games they shouldn't, bad teams find ways to lose games they shouldn't and it felt a little familiar but weird seeing little traits of Iginla like how he skates or how he shoots, but its not as a Flame.

Proud he was a Flame... still glad we dealt him and moved on, but Iginla left us a lot of great memories. Hope to see him back one day...

Such an awesome experience tonight. The crowd was hot all night, the roof would have been blown off had Iggy scored a goal especially on the early powerplay.

While the end result of the game sucked, the overall experience was something I will remember for everyone. Shame the guys behind me never stopped talking once.

Incredible atmosphere. Disappointing outcome.

Drew a Ramo puck from Stajan's wife at the Better Halfs table to boot!

Considering the bad goal was the game winning goal I think I have a pretty legit reason for pinning this loss on Berra. And it looks like I'm not the only one.

Post game comments from Iggy....

Quote:
"It was definitely emotional. It was a cool feeling," Iginla said. "It felt special, the ovation there at the start and then you kind of feel funny standing out there."
Quote:
Iginla's short lap onto the ice after he was named third star of the game turned into two longer ones. His Bruins teammates blocked the bench to make him stay on the ice longer and soak up the adulation.

"The guys came out and wouldn't let me off the ice," Iginla said. "I went for one little loop and they were like 'no, no, you've got to go one more' and they made me go one more, too.

"That was fun and it was nice of the fans. They probably wanted me off the ice by then, too."
Quote:
"You don't really know what the response is going to be," Iginla said. "People were great and they made it very special for myself and for my mom — I haven't talked to her yet — and my dad.

"It's pretty cool and it's humbling and people are cheering and it's pretty special. They made me good. It did make me feel good seeing some signs that said 'miss you' and all the 12 jerseys."
Quote:
"It was more than I could have hoped for and honestly, coming back, part of you is looking forward to it and then you just want to get through it," Iginla said. "I didn't have a lot of feelings of just trying to get through it.

"I really enjoyed it all."

More from Iggy...

Quote:
"You kind of reflect on all the years you get to play for a great organization here in Calgary and all the fun I've had so far in my career, I feel very fortunate and blessed," Iginla said.

"My team was great to me and made it even more special for me and the guys on the other side, the Flames. I know at the start they're waiting for that and it's a little bit different, so I appreciate that. Definitely I wanted to come back and hoped it would be memorable and all the way around it was."

Hopefully that post is because you are too young to remember where we were in Iggy's early years and how he became the lynchpin of this team.

It took many years of hard work and dedication to get from where we were to that SCF year. So much so that I was never prouder to be a fan of the Flames than I was that year.

Um, no. He wasn't great, nor terrible. I watched him closely tonight and he didn't have as many obvious turnovers as anyone else. I think some fans look too closely at him now.............if he has a bad game, fine. But tonight he was pretty neutral, which is what you want to see. Bad night to nitpick his play.

I would agree with everything said. I know I will get blasted for this but... I would of like to see mcgrattan- B.Jones- Byron. My reasoning is.They had the first shift of the game. They came out and really played their role as an energy line fore checked hard and threw their weight. It could just be a coincidence but the less often they got on the more the bruins had room to establish a there game.

Yeah, it was a bad goal. He definitely didn't help things in the third. However, he did play pretty solid for the most part. He was let down a lot by a team that went flat and got out-competed. He faced 15 shots in the third (compared to 5 in the first, and 4 in the second). Stupid penalties by O'Brien and Colborne did not help.

It was a team loss, not just a Berra loss. The last 10-12 minutes of play were horrendous for the Flames. It is certainly disappointing that we could not scrape together at least a point out of this. I do hope Colborne gets a good talking to over his untimely Delay of Game penalty.

Flames get outshot 15-5 in 3rd and lose 2-1. But it's all on Berra?

With how the Bruins took over the 3rd period, we're lucky it wasn't worse.

Brodie got beat to the outside and Berra let in a shot that was after a nice quick deke when it looks like he was going to be going wide around the net...

Seriously, the Flames goalies have not been the problem. Heck, there is no problem - this is all part of the process. Both Ramo and Berra have shown a nice amount of development from the start of the season until now.

On the bright side, our defense is getting better.

Hope iggy comes back in some capacity to Calgary when he's done with his playing career.
