I'm so excited for this to happen just for the player reaction. If they think it's a culture shock to play in Montreal, just wait until they're in a real french city.
Quebec would house its new NHL franchise at the Colisee Pepsi, a 15,176-seat venue that served as home to the Nordiques for 15 years and has continued to host international tournaments and major junior hockey in recent years. The new arena package has already set aside $7 million to refurbish the Colisee as a temporary home to any new franchise.
Could go in a couple of places but bump on the rendition of potential Seattle arena from a hockey perspective. The pocket suites 5 seats up from the dashboard are innovative and the "Sonic Rings" for standup viewing that overhang court/ice shows what is old is new again.
I like the intimacy and how close you seem to be to the action but the seating around corners boards look like there could be some obstruction.
Per Chris Hansen, the would be owner of the NBA franchise:
While I know there may have been a few skeptics out there, I have to say I am just as pumped as most of you to see the return of professional hockey to Seattle, and honestly can't wait to see this building bursting at the seams with crazed Seattle hockey fans.
I was watching the Leafs game on SN, and the colour guy said that there are rumours that the Panthers may be moving to Quebec City sooner than people think.
