Default Need Work 'Team Building' Ideas for 16

CPer's. I need some help. I need to plan a work 'team building' event for a group of 16. Mainly male and it will be on a Tuesday night. The dinner and drinks 'stuff' will all be taken care of with other events. I am looking for something that would take place in the evening in the Calgary area. Looking for something for about two hours max. Some ideas: something at CODA/COP, Go Karts, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help

I am going to be subjected to a "Team Building" exercise next week and my only hope is that it is held indoors. COP and Go-Karts have actually been suggested. It's too damn cold for that stuff.

Go bowling. Everyone loves bowling. Or at least they like it a bit. And you can also drink while it goes on and the more drinking, the more people will actually talk to each other instead of awkwardly going through the motions.

Bowling is a good option.

Paintball might be another.

You didn't list the ages (or general range) so that makes things tougher. That said, if someone has a kick arse video gaming setup, a couple tournaments of something like Tekken and Gran Turismo have gone over well for get togethers in my world. A couple people are playing head to head, while the others mingle and wait their respective turns.

Ditto a pool tournament.

Edit, heck, a Texas Hold 'Em tournament would work for 16 quite nicely, with some sides of pool and video games as you see fit.

Schanks South has a kind of sports olympics team building thing that they do.

There's the Amazing Race, and a CSI thingy.

We did one in a conference room at work where two of the guys brought in their Wii's. They used the conference room projectors on a big screen. We played Doubles tennis, it was a blast.

We actually did one tht was kinda fun. Someone went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of crap in multiples and then divided it up it up. Our teams had to then create a "product" with the items and sell it to the rest of the groups.

Best corporate event / reward for a mid-sized team was sea kayaking near Victoria. Oh, and we had regular meeting type thingees during the day.

Thanks All, some good stuff here. Age range 30-50, all guys but one. I like the shooting range and maybe something at Switchbox for the gaming stuff. I haven't heard of those new Schanks Olympics events. I have two weeks to plan. I am looking for something that I just have to get them there and it is all done. I will be in meetings during the day with everyone else so there isn't much prep time.
