Cordless Mouse??
So I need a new mouse for the computer, laptop actually, and was wondering what people's expierience with cordless mouse's has been.
I've never had one so I don't know what the pro's and con's are other than you have to keep them charged up. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I bought this mouse a couple weeks ago.

It was on sale and only costed me $64.99. It might be a little extreme for you, but I am quite happy with it. My advice would be to buy one that has a built in rechargeable battery. And also buy one that has a small receiver. IE one that is the size of a USB flash stick. I bought a mouse for my dad's laptop last week that had a 2' cord with a mouse size wireless receiver on the end of it. It was pretty dumb, and I'll be returning it soon.

THe MX revolution is an awesome mouse (I have one) but the VX is the mobile version. Microsoft has a line of good portable mice.
Big thing I'd look for? Auto off - as you never remember to flip the switch. Biggest though is built in storage for the usb receiver as I always lose the damn thing.

I have a logitech G7. My first one stopped working and logitech sent me a replacement but the second one has lasted for quite a while now and I love it.

I've had one for over a year now and would not go back. This is the model I have Logitech Cordless Laptop Mouse (V200) http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...10066932&catid=
It is not rechargeable but I have no problems using it. It acts like another USB device, and the durability is great. Even though it is not rechargeable I've only changed the batteries once since I've got this mouse. I would highly recommend this mouse.

If you get one that you can recharge make sure that it will accept regular batteries as well. The contacts on the bottom have to be cleaned regularly, if they get corrosion from moisture (sweat) left on your mousepad it may not charge properly.

Whatever you choose, stay away from Bluetooth.

I have the VX Revolution Laptop cordless mouse. It's awesome.

it's not rechargable, but the batteries last long enough so that you don't even notice it. Plus when you turn it on, there is a little led indicator telling how much battery life you have left.

Used one for exactly 2 hours....stopped responding....took it back.
Logitech MX Revolution. I'll stick with the G5.

Myself, I can't stand them. To me it's just one more potential point of failure.
I can see using it if you are travelling a lot with the laptop, and just want to be able to plug something in quickly and not have to untangle the cord.

Gotta agree with you ... I've found Bluetooth is way better than infrared. I've never used an RF one though. Personally, I love cordless mice and keyboards. I've got them on all of my computers, as well as a cordless mouse for my laptop. I can't see why being shackled with a cord is a better option. As far as brands go, I've had better luck with Microsoft than Logitech for whatever it's worth.

We've got a cheap Benq cordless mouse. It gobbles AA batteries at a frenzied clip.

My mouse eats batteries also.
Check out Costco, they have a great deal on AA batteries. 48 to a pack and IIRC it was only 10 dollars.

I have had nothing but problems with logitech bluetooths. They frequently lose communication between the keyboard/mouse and the bluetooth dongle. Doesn't matter if I have setpoint installed, or what OS it is. The pain in getting it reconnected each time ticks me off.
I wish they would bring back the RF keyboard. I do have to agree that bluetooth is still better than IR in terms of range, but the connection problems will keep me from buying bluetooth from logitech again. As well, my mouse cursor at times will lag far behind the mouse movement, sometimes near 5 seconds.

Logitech's lack of a standard RF frequency drives me nuts - can't sub in a new wireless mouse into and existing keyboard / mouse combo. I'm pretty sure it's a means to boost sales.

I bought this bluetooth mouse a year ago http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordl.../dp/B000BDH2Y8 and it's working great. It completely responsive, smooth and the batteries only need to be changed every 3 months or so (2 AAs). And it was on sale at best buy for 35 bucks!
