Stupid Eagles indeed. To think they, and New Orleans, (and Chicago) were the preseason favourites in the NFC just shows how pitifully weak the NFC is. I wouldn't be surprised if NONE of last seasons playoff teams made it in this year.
The MNF crew tried to spin it to put the blame on the Eagles receivers, but Donovan also missed plenty of passes. In years past, we've seen McNabb get a lot more out of a lot less. Without that longball threat, the Eagles are look lost.

Here is the thing...this isnt just 2 games. After a brutal start last year with 3 rookies on the offensive line (sorry thats why a rookie QB should not be anywhere near this club even now) that went 1-4, the Packers are a combined 9-4 since.
Chicago is the cream of the crop in the division, no question. There are two other improved teams in the Lions and the Vikings as well....so it wont be easy....but they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs with Favre. With Aaron Rogers i doubt that they would even get a sniff.

If I'm coaching a team that is playing for next season and there is a good chance my current QB won't be back next season then, I'm strongly considering putting the player in who will be here next year.
If short term success isn't possible then I need to think into the next timeframe, and if that means letting a young player get in and finding out what full speed feels like, and finding out if he can be the QB of the future, so be it. It is better to do that now in a lost season than waste 3 or 4 games or worse, find out he can't handle full speed, and lose another entire season.
Last season, when the Pack were going no where, Brett wasn't playing well and seemed unhappy, and there were loud questions about him not coming back, I'm sure management considered putting Rodgers in (until he broke his foot, at which point the QB of the future was on the shelf).

I would also give credit to Washington's secondary. McNabb looked like he was starting to get his rythm back at the end of 3rd quarter, but he still doesn't look 100%. He actually looks like Carson Palmer did that the beginning of last year, which makes sense since they both were coming off the same type of surgery.
The receivers have been brutal so far this year. I thought Reggie Brown made huge strides last year and would have a breakout year this year. So far he's been garbage. Kevin Curtis has been FA bust up to this point. The only bright spot has been Jason Avant.
The defense has looked sharp so far this year, even with the injuries in the secondary. Gaither has done a tremendous job replacing Trotter and Bunkley is starting to look like a 1st round pick.
I'm getting awfully sick of Reid abandoning the running game. Westbrook is a great back and needs to be featured a lot more.

Hard to believe how many on this very board kept saying he was past his expiration date and should retire.

Also just 2 INT's short of the career record - it's appropriate he'll get both b/c I think it really defines his career, both the good and the bad.
I thought he was past his prime and still think it. First game they had 0 offensive TD's, second game was against an atrocious Giants D. Both young QB's who also faced Philly and NYG put up better numbers and also won the games. This weeks home game against San Diego and the week after in Minn will be more telling to me - if he has a positive turnovers/TD's ratio and they come out 3-1 I'll probably be convinced he is still an above average NFL QB. By average, I mean around 16th best QB in the league, which right around where I'd currently rank him.

Like Nolan Ryan - alltime leader in strikeouts (5714) and walks (2795).

Westbrook was VERY effective last night. It was pretty obvious the Redskins weren't respecting the run. If they had let Westbrook break off a few more 8 yard runs then perhaps the Washington secondary would have needed to hesitate on the snap and some receivers could get separation.

McNabb's disappointing play has surprised me to this point so far, considering at this time last year he looked far and away the MVP favourite. One thing I will give credit to McNabb for which I still saw last night is, man can he avoid a sack in the pocket.

So far it looks like Dallas is the class of the conference. If they can just get Terence Newman back to help solidify that leaky secondary, they may be going big places.

He still seems to throw more balls into the turf than any other QB.

Now McNabb is complaining that black QB's are criticized more than white QB's saying that QB's like Carson Palmer and Peyton Manning dont get criticized as much as he does. I cant speak on Palmer, but Manning was criticized more than ANY QB before he won a Superbowl... "He cant win the big game", "Belichick has his number", etc...
Shut up McNabb, win a Superbowl and stop playng the race card.

Yeah, like Joey Harrington is getting a free pass.
Donovan, you are playing the most high profile position in a city where they boo Santa. Starting 0-2 is going to earn you lots of spite. If you want to be loved, WIN.

Winners suck it up and win. Manning is a winner. Brady is a winner. Favre is a winner. Losers make excuses. McNabb, quit being a loser already.

McNabb IMO has faced a LOT of unearned criticism in Philly over his career. The hilarious irony over his own fans booing him on draft day is that they were upset because they wanted Ricky Williams. I wonder how that wouldve worked out for them. The guy's taken them to a Super Bowl appearance and the start of this year aside, has been a Pro Bowl-calibre QB throughout his career.
With that said, the fact he is playing the race card is beyond ridiculous. Reading something like that really makes me lose respect for him. Its like you said, he's just playing in a city where theyre harder on their team than any other place, the fans are nuts. Booing Santa as you stated, as well as cheering when Michael Irvin had to be carted off the field in what ended up being a career ending injury(and they werent politely clapping either, it was about a star player on the rival team being on his ass). McNabb needs to quit whining and just play.

Yeah that was Athlon Sports prediction as well.
Pro Football Weekly foresaw a Pats/Saints matchup. I can only hope...

Or Grossman. Takes a team to the Super Bowl and gets shredded every single day.

Grossman most definately did not take his team to the Super Bowl. He was just along for the ride. With a compitant QB the Bears win the Super Bowl. Grossman is infact a terrible QB. True story.
