26 Worlds Weirdest Animals EVER

There are some pretty unique looking creatures in this list....

http://hellishhumor.com/world-weirdest-animals.php

My pic of the bunch...

The Aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis) is a strepsirrhine native to Madagascar that combines rodent-like teeth with a long, thin middle finger to fill the same ecological niche as a wood. It is the world's largest nocturnal primate, and is characterized by its unique method of finding food; it taps on trees to find grubs, then gnaws holes in the wood and inserts its elongated middle finger to pull the grubs out.

I used to have an aye-aye as my desktop picture.. It's a shame that they are almost extinct. The people of Madagascar thought aye-ayes were evil and tried to exterminate them.

It's amazing how many animals are out there even today that many educated people still haven't seen yet. Just shows the diversity of this planet and how we have to try our hardest to stop polluting and destroying it. Every year I read articles about how new animals are discovered and I'm fairly certain there are still rare animals in the extreme depths of the ocean that have never been seen before.

Makes it very interesting to think about how many different and unique types of animals existed millions and billions of years ago that we'll never find out about.

No Kidding? People used to think the Aye-Ayes were evil? I wonder what gave them that impression? People make alot of mistakes based on appearances.

I think someone in OT is looking for #9.....

If I recall correctly, the reason was because the animal is nocturnal and makes a bizarre screaching sound that the people thought sounded like a demon.

Similar to how the very last known great awk was killed (in the late 1800s or early 1900s - can't quite remember). It was captured by some fishermen and put in a cage. Later on, the bird started to screach and the superstitious fishermen thought that it was summoning the devil to come and help it - so they killed it. That was the last ever reported siting of a great awk.

Don't remember what they're called but I remember seeing more than a few "weird" creatures in the Deep Seas segment of Planet Earth.

This is my entry as the oddest animal ever. A Giant Pill Bug that lives at the bottom of the sea.

The Dumbo Octopus and the Yeti Crab were the two that I had never seen or heard-of before. My favorite animal on the list is the Red Panda. I don't know that it's really that weird, but it's my favorite animal to watch at the zoo; very playful - the otter of the trees.

Most of those animals really aren't that wierd. I'm kind of disappointed. Especially after starting off with that cool sea horse at 26. I guess I was expecting more.
That blobfish is quite horrendous though. Not something I wouuld like served to me on a plate.
