General Contracting Work???

So I'm in the process of moving a house to a property that I will soon own. Basically I won't be able to get a basement dug before winter and the people who are selling the house to me want it gone asap.

The location that I have chosen is cleared but the ground it quite bumpy from the loggers who logged out the area last year. If I can get the house right beside the location of my proposed basement I can block it and they can roll it on the basement next spring without having to load it up again saving probably thousands of dollars. So I nned to level off the clearing so thetruck can get in and also the driveway needs to be gravelled and levels in places.

Does anybody know if that is something that I could do just with a small cat I can rent from a local business or would it be best just to pay to have a general contractor do it. I don't have much experience in the feild but it doesn't seem like rocket science. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Question- what are you doing with the fill that you remove in this levelling process? I ask because when just doing foundation walls for the garage; I grossly underestimated how much there would be to move.
