I'll give a hint. The first name shares the same first name as a first round pick this year which is also the last name of a Batman. I've said too much.

EDIT: To clearify the name.

Those shirts are hilarious! I wish I was more white trash so that I could buy them...

Try: Moxy Crimefighter Wayne. That kid will be destined to a life of do gooding... and wearing tights with a cape.

Advice? Listen politely to everyones advice, and then do what you think is right. You'll know your little guy better than anyone, so you'll know best, despite what Grandma's best friend says.

Do it all. Walks with him, take him everywhere, change him, feed him (when that time comes), steal him for a whole day to let your wife rest and go do "guy stuff" even though he's too small to understand.

AND, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT LOOK AT THE PLACENTA AFTERWARDS!!!!!
The Tank took the words out of my mouth, especially the bolded part.

Your parents, the in-laws, sisters, brothers, cousins, strangers......everyone feels the need once in a while to tell you how to do certain things or the solutions to any problem. But like Frank says.....it's your kid, not theirs.

Don't get me wrong......some of the advice we got really was invaluable. But a lot wasn't. Nobody will know your kid like you and your wife. Every kid is different. You'll figure it out and be fine.

The only advice I have is to try and enjoy everything........the birth, the first days, the sleepless nights, etc. Some of it is pretty hard to enjoy or adjust to, but it goes by so freaking fast it will make your head spin. Our daughter is 9 months old and my wife and I always talk about how fast everything is going by.......feels like we just brought her home from the hospital yesterday.

Congrats, BTW. And you too Fozzie & Antithesis.

Hey, congrats man.

We have a 4 month old (our first) and I can't tell you how cool it is to be a dad. I can have the absolute worst day at work, and I will forget about it after being home for 5 minutes because of that little guy.

The only advice I can give is to try and set a schedule as soon as you can. Forget the first month or two, because your son will be in charge. A lot of books out there tout the E.A.S.Y. system - Eat, Activity, Sleep, you. Yeah, cheesy, but it works. Feed him, play with him for a hour or two, put him to bed. If you can get that schedule down, you are laughing.

Good luck to you.

This is actually great advice. I second it.

My daughter is 3 months old now--and the single best tip I've received is that infants can only be awake for 45 minutes to an hour and a half at the outside before they need to go back to sleep. And--this is important--put him to sleep when he FIRST gets drowsy. Wait too long, and you'll have a lot more fussiness and crying. Don'y be surprised if he sleeps 20 hours a day for the first while.

Also--take a childbirth class--if only to prepare you for the harrowing 30 hour marathon that is labour. But also--take a parenting class: not everything you need to know is intuitive.

Congratulations, man. It's a trip, I promise you.
