Default Oden's Out

Greg Oden, the former Ohio State Buckeye center and #1 overall pick of the Portland Trial Blazers, is out for 6 months and possibly the entire season with microfracture surgery on one of his knees.

A lot of suspicion exists that this injury existed before he was drafted but was covered up so that Oden would still go #1 and still be able to sign #1 money.

Interesting and another devastating injury to the Portland Trials Blazers who are still kicking themselves for drafting Sam Bowie... and not that guy Jordan.

wow, that is a tough break for both him and the trail blazers. hopefully there wasn't any shady buisness going on. he's likely worth the wait anyways, provided he fully recovers from the surgery.

I like how a bunch of the headlines (see digg for example) say he'll miss his rookie year. Well, isn't the first year you play your rookie year? Unless he never plays again, he'll have a rookie year, no?

As soon as I heard he was going in for exploritory surgery I knew the news would not be good.

This is a horrible lose for him, The Blazers and the NBA. He was suppose to be the next Shaq. I hope he can come back after a year off and still play.
