Alarm Company Issue
I figure that the great fountain of knowledge that is CP can help me with this quandry:
About a year ago we installed an alarm in our home. We sold the house and moved this summer, and now we want to have an alarm in our new house. The alarm company gave us a "free move" card so that we wouldn't have to pay. (Incidentally the "free" move is $100 because its been less than a year...not thrilling, but not a big deal in this case).
Now the alarm company will not include the same items as we had in the last house. We had two smoke detectors, two door sensors, two motion detectors. They will only give us one smoke detector and one motion detector. If we want to have the same set-up it will cost us $250.
We said that was ridiculous, and we would just cancel...of course we are on a contract though...so we said we would stop payment. They said they will just send an invoice and basically we are stuck.
Anyone dealt with this, or have any advice? We do want an alarm system, and we are not trying to get something for nothing...we would be fine with the same materials as we had before!
Thanks!
