Both are amazing reads if you like fiction books in the fantasy genre.

I enjoyed both of those too. A recent issue of Dungeon magazine was focused on these books, including maps, monsters and an interview with the author. I did not enjoy Iron Council as much.

The Upside of Down, by Thomas Homer-Dixon, not a bad book

I just finished the Storm of Swords (the third book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series) and am now reading A Feast for Crows. (the next one)
Also just finished reading "If Chins Could Kill" which is just fantastic, Bruce Campbell is one of my favorites.

I didn't like FFC nearly as much as I did Storm of Swords.

Yeah I was just about to start Iron Council. I thought Perdido Street Station was also the better of the two books as well.

Well it's only really 1/2 a book. Storm of Swords was a fantastic book, I couldn't put it down. Hard to top really but I get the feeling the next couple books might.

Uh, no. Not if I have to continue to slug through "Fluid Mechanics" and "Elementary Differential Equations", which, quite frankly, I don't think any elementary student could follow.

I'm in to reading lighter fare right now.
Just finished "The book of the Dead" by Child & Preston. Currently reading "The Last Templer" by Raymond Khoury which has been lot's of fun so far.
Recently I reread for the umpteenth time "Footfall" and "Lucifer's Hammer" by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle. I love both of those 'end of the world type" books.

Which makes you wonder, given FFC is still 1200 pages or so. I really wish GRRM would hurry up and publish A Dance With Dragons though. The biggest reason why FFC wasn't as good is that the stories of nearly all of the most intriguing characters (imnsho) are in DWD.

Martin hasn't even finished writing it, which is why it isn't published. Apparently he still has a ways to go as well.
