Yeah, untill they actually play some meaningfull games. Its hard to speculate what is going to happen. Last year the Chiefs looked like they were in big trouble after the home opener. But the line played well enough to win. The D caused turnovers and the offense scored when they got the ball on turnovers. If that same scenario happens again this season. We may see a playoff team. They will be in the hunt all season. It will come down to the last week or two as usual.
Missing Jared Allan for the first two road games could hurt. Especially in Chicago. Would be nice to see number 69 forcing Grossman to fumble.

I'm looking for a 10-6 or 11-5 season and a wildcard birth. Cutler should be better than the Snake was last year. I think those 5 starts at the end of last season will be huge for him heading into this year. Rushing game is always good. Bailey and Bly on the corners could be deadly. Broncos should challenge for most picks in the league with that. The D is always top half of the league. Should amount to a wild card berth.

The Good: The defense is this team's strength, how long has it been since that was true? With the explosive defensive line, anchored by Kevin and Pat Williams, we should be strong against the run. And with Robinson, Udeze, Scott and James rotating at the ends, we should be able to get pressure on the QB. The secondary is the obvious strength with Winfield and Sharper as the anchors there. We have too much depth at safety, and someone will be released this weekend between Doss, Williams and Blue….but with Smith the starter at safety, we have the depth we need. Cedric Griffin is the wild card back there, people will pick on him, so if he steps up we will be alright. The rookie Macaulay will be the Nickel back, and he's impressed in training camp.
The offensive line is an obvious strength (well at least half of it), with the left side being as solid as it get's in the NFL. McKinnie and Hutchinson will be studs on that side, with the rest of the line being suitable. Birk seems to have lost a step but is a great leader….and on the right side; it's anyone's guess as to who will start there, will probably end up being Cook and Herrera, but again, who knows?
Anddd running back depth…with Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson, we have two running backs who are both capable of special things. Chester proved himself last year in carrying the load, so I expect him to start off strong, to show the coaches he deserves to get the load of carries. AP gives us a nice option to catch out of the backfield or to line up in 2 man backfield with Taylor. I'm excited to see what AP does for this, otherwise, anemic offense.
The Bad: The anemic offense. This could potentially be the worst offense in the league, passing wise. Tarvaris Jackson will be completely lost out there for at least half the season. While people are saying big things about him, he needs time to mature. Bringing in Holcomb will help with that veteran presence behind him. The WR's are all unproven….ugh….such a disgusting set of WRs. Williamson is a bust, until he shows he can actually CATCH the ball, he had his eyes checked out and has been working hard in the off-season, so here's hoping. Bobby Wade is our BIG FREE AGENT PICKUP…god…he can do well in the slot I guess. I have high hopes for Sidney Rice….big frame, smart kid.
The VERY Bad: The Special Teams…god it's been brutal during the preseason. Hopefully it get's better.
Sorry for the long winded post. I'm looking forward to this season!!

Eagles:
Strengths - The offense is strong at pretty well every position. When healthy, Donovan McNabb is one of the best QBs in the league. Brian Westbrook is a dangerous weapon in the backfield and when split out at WR. The receivers are very young and underrated crew led by Reggie Brown, Kevin Curtis, and TE L.J. Smith, and the O-line might very well be the best in the NFL.
Weaknesses - Special teams. I don't care what anyone says, David Akers has not been nearly as reliable as he was prior to his injury in 2005. He is still a very good kicker, but I don't have the same amount of confidence as I used to when he lines up for a 50 yarder. On the return side of things, Jeremy Bloom has looked just okay in training camp, but has been nagged by the same toe injury that sidelined him last year. The Eagles, IMO, still do not have a bonafide return man.
Question Marks - The linebackers. Takeo Spike brings much needed help and leadership to the weakside position after two awful years from garbage LB Dhani Jones. Chris Gocong has looked very good in preseason but this will be his first year as a starter. The biggest question is in the middle with Omar Gaither taking over from Jeremiah Trotter.
The Eagles have a pretty decent schedules and, on paper, should only possibly lose to the likes of New England, New Orleans, Seattle, Dallas and Chicago. Barring an injury to McNabb, this team could easily be 13-3, but I'll go with 11-5 and first in the NFC East.

The good we have a top 5 defence that is starting to age.
The ugly our QB is one more concussion away from a wheelchair. Our star wide receiver is "mr. drops" Chris Chambers and our o-line well is awful.
Here's to a whole bunch of games in single digits this year.

Patriots; 13-3 record, win the Superbowl
Brady to Moss will be a great combo.
Thomas will be gigantic on defence.

I think its going to be difficult for ANYONE in the AFC to win that many games...11-5 should win every division depending on injuries.

Not to mention, 13 rookies have made the current 53 man roster so not a lot of experience. I think the offence will be alittle better than what most expect. The o-line is brutal and has to be the main concern, I would not be surprised to see the Fins pick up a couple of o-line men who were cut by their previous teams yesterday. The defence should be very good but the secondary is somewhat of a concern. The biggest problem for the Fins is that they have the Pats in their division.

Denver..
Good...I think the offense will be spectacular.
Cutler is the most talented QB by far that Denver has had since you know who hung 'em up. He can make every throw, he's mobile, tough and smart. He will probably still make some youthful mistakes, but I think his 5 games as a starter last year will pay dividends this year.
The running game is set to be dynamite. Henry as the starter, spelled by Mike Bell and Selyvn Young....who is Selvyn Young? University of Texas RB who was hampered by injuries his entire college career. He is healthy for the first time since his junior year in HS. The Broncos backfield has a chance to be special.
The receiver are young, but talented. Javon Walker of course leads the way. Brandon Marshall was coming on nicely at the end of last season. Domenik Hixon is a guy who was injured his entire rookie year...and is a guy the Broncos have been very high on. Brian Clark has paid his dues returning kicks and playing special teams. Big kid who had a great preseason. The old man, Rod Smith will be back later in the season to lend a hand as well. Brandon Stokely is the wildcard. TBD how much he will contribute early but if it's a lot the Broncos could find themselves very deep at the position. TE's Tony Scheffler and former Patriot (and Denver native) Daniel Graham provide a nice one-two punch.
I'm a little concerned about the defense as that first unit did not play well all preseason. Bly and Bailey on the corners should be money. The pass rush is young and talented with Moss, Crowder and Dumervil. The LB's are fast (as fast as any in the league) and talented. Should be great, but I want to see it on the field.
Overall, I think San Diego will be tough to overtake although I really don't think Norv Turner is a good HEAD coach. How much will that factor in? I don't know. I like Denver to go 11-5 and be the top AFC wildcard.

--Offense I think is overrated. Being a pass first system, it's very hit and miss, and it looked pretty awful doing preseason. The Receivers and QB are good, but lack of running game will always hurt in tight games. The O-line and D-line are looking good.
--Akers has been missing a lot of field goals the last couple years. He's still got really good range, but his accuracy has been off.
--And why did Trotter get cut? Boggles the mind.

I think with Mornhinweg calling the plays this year, we'll see a lot more running. That pass first system was running without Shawn Andrews for all of preseason, and it was preseason.
Trotter admitted that he was not willing to take a backup role, and there's no way he was starting material anymore.

I agree with Ryz comments above and just wanted to add that I am just bit uneasy with the running game this year. I can see Henry being a feast or famine kind of back. With the history of RB in Denver I hope he can carry the load.

New Orleans Saints: 11-5
NFL's #1 offence statistically from '06 looks even stronger with TE Eric Johnson and more receiver depth with WR's David Patten, Robert Meachem(though he really struggled in OTA's and TC with weight problems, injuries and overall disappointing play) and the sudden drastically improved play of Lance Moore. Overall in pre-season Brees went 35 of 39 passing and already looks like an MVP candidate.
The D is still prone to allowing big plays both through the air and on the ground, but I think CB Jason David will be an upgrade on Fred Thomas at the #2 spot. ILB Brian Simmons also provides solid depth at LB, and I'm interested to see how S Roman Harper has healed, he seemed to be progressing as a rookie every week last year until his injury in week 6.
Over-all, an explosive offence and an improved(but still soft) defence should be enough to land the Saints a second consecutive NFC South crown. I really dont see who else would take it in that division, unless Carolina finally starts to play up to previous expectations for a change. They are the only real threat to the Saints in the south, but I like New Orleans to win the division and be a top contender to come out of the NFC.

Looking forward to seeing if they can live up to all of the hype. If anyone can get Moss to be a team player, it's Belichik.
