I second that. It's absolutely despicable that you can make such ignorant comments about 20 year olds coming in for dehydration and exhaustion. Have you never been on the set of a movie and filmed for 4 hours a day and felt bummed? This is hard work man...of course he was dehydrated. Ask LaFlamesFan - he must know about this common condition known as dehydration...it's an epidemic hitting the hardworking blonds of Hollywood Hills.

I still don't get what is funny about any of this.

Wilson asked to be left alone....hopefully the media does that.

Wow. I went to that Perez Hilton site today. I did not need to see Andy Dick taking a piss. Don't think I'll be going back there.

Rather, I suspect most people will try to hide their true feelings, whether deliberately or subconsiously. Signs of depression/suicidal nature are often not easy to see unless you are looking.

C'mon Owen, "You, Me & Dupree" wasnt that bad....

We have to take everything with a grain of salt here, there really isnt much credibly solid information here, and there may not be for a while. That being said, there is a school of thought that considers all celebrity doings fair game for ridicule or criticism, regardless of their outcomes and the moral implications that they bring.

I dont subscribe to that school of thought particularly as I'm not a Calgary Sun headline writer (long suspected to be nothing more than a simple Pun Machine) but some people mask their discomfort with humour.

Suicide isnt funny.

Hopefully he'll be okay.

Well so much for qualifiers.

Maybe trying actually paying attention to what I'm saying rather than making sarcastic comments about what I might have said had I fulfilled your preconceptions. I never said these hollywood stars were honestly just dehydrated. I was responding to comments that implied that the conditions aren't serious in and of themselves. If they do get dehydrated or exhausted, it's probably more from their wild lifestyles than work.

Annnnd...the stories start racing through the net.

http://www.pugbus.net/artman/publish...lsoncide.shtml

"Ironically, I was just gathering up some of the 'gadgets' Owen had left at my house before we broke up in June," said Kate Hudson. "If anything happens to him I'll never be able to hook up with a Farmer's Daughter milking machine again."
I have to admit, I have never heard of this little gem.

I've always liked Owen, haven't always liked all his movies, but generally like him as an actor. This however, is more than I ever needed to know about the guy.
Hope he gets the help he needs.

Ummm.... did you really read that article and come away believing a single word in it?

Really?

Just for the record, the site in question has a "headline" on their sidebar that states "Mother Teresa Letters Reveal She Just Wanted to Get Laid"

Stuff like this makes me sick. I mean, I don't like Owen Wilson the actor, and I hate most of his movies (with the exception of The Royal Tenenbaums)....

BUT HAVE SOME FRIGGIN RESPECT PEOPLE.

Some websites are now confirming that it was a suicide attempt, like was first reported. Shocking, as he seemed like such a laid back guy.

Quote:
Extra has obtained the Calls For Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson’s house on Sunday as an “attempted suicide.”
The 911 call, which was received on August 26 at 12:08 p.m., was made by the actor’s younger brother, Luke, who found Owen. The Wedding Crashers star was immediately rushed to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica and was later transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Wow, I just reread that link I posted and you are so right. I should have realized what I was reading and been more aware of what I was posting. I sincerely apologize if this "article" offended anyone.
In my feeble defense, I am recovering from surgery, was all hopped up on painkillers and lack of sleep at the time of this previous posting and should not have been on the computer, (I'm facing my addiction to this board here).
Sorry everyone, I know better than this, my bad.

Hope you are feeling better dude. Surgery is no fun... though painkillers can be...

Sorry to freak out, but I've just recently had to deal with the suicide of a close friend and one of the worst parts (aside from the obvious) is the rumours that start when people start to catch wind of it. It's like people feel the need to pry every detail they possibly can from people who are VERY confused, suffering immensely and don't have anywhere close to all the answers.

I understand, it's human to be curious, especially about something as mysterious (can't think of a better word right now) as suicide... but speculation about something you have no clue about will never lead you to the truth and will probably just hurt people in the end.

Also for the record, when I copied and pasted the Mother Teresa part, I didnt realize it was going to link to the article....

Hope no one clicked it.

He was speedballing three days prior to his attempt. Having a major downer, popping pills to get back to base, he decided to end it all there and then. This is not as uncommon amongst celebrities as a lot of people might think. Drugs are a HUGE part of their life. They have so much money they can keep partying for days on end and end up getting seriously dependant on uppers and downers. Hollywood stars have such great PR that 99% of the population never know the real truth about anything. It is all lies and spin and management and these guys are amazing (second only to government spin doctors). I have been working on and off in PR this year and i have learnt so much more than i already knew. When stories break about actors being hospitalized for exhaustion i sometimes know the real truth especially when they was at my clients launch party the night before smoking crack in the disabled toilets. Apparantly Wilson was on it big time and it got the better of him. This was confirmed in an interview with Courteney Love who blamed British actor Steve Coogan for introducing this life of excess to Wilson.

Anyway good luck him, hope he gets better.
