yeah it looks like he may have just been dehydrated.
here is the "source" for the suicide.
Quote:
According to The National Enquirer and Star magazine, the star of Shanghai Noon and and Starsky & Hutch had cut his left wrist and taken a number of pills. A family member found him and sounded the alarm.
He was later taken to a hospital in Santa Monica, California.

CBS news says otherwise.

Wilson was later brought to the Beverly Hills' Cedars-Sinai Hospital where he detoxed. Anonymous sources said Wilson suffered from dehydration.

I wonder if he wrote a suicide note? If so, can we read it? Can he paraphrase it? Was it dark?
*Wrong Wilson brother though*

That's harsh. Hopefully he comes around... its disturbing to hear this about a seemingly happy-go-lucky guy like Owen Wilson.

my personal favorite is exhaustion.

Yeah, that one's Lindsay Lohan's PR comment of choice. It's slang for coked out.

Wow...that is suprising..you wouldn't expect it from a guy like him. Hopefully he gets the support he needs and recovers if this is true.

Unless you have met the guy personally repeatedly to know what kind of guy he is in real life I find it hard to really 'expect' anything from any hollywood star. His on-screen charm, and 'good-guy' appeal could merely be a product of his acting abilities and PR spin. I personally don't think much of any celebrities. All too often the 'good-guy' ends up getting caught with hookers and blow and the PR line is "sweet wholesome person gone estray, please pray for his recovery!" while he's really been like that since day one and just got caught in the public eye. I know this one is 'attempted suicide' and not really about hollywood excess, but my point was rather more along the lines of expectations.

This came as a big shock to me as well. Just goes to show that even the people who seem to have their lives all together might not.
I mostly wanted to comment on the posts depreciating the seriousness of dehydration and exhaustion, though. Whether or not they are substituted by PR people for other conditions, they can be VERY serious on their own. Yes, people do get admitted to hospital for exhaustion and dehydration, and rightly so. People do die from both things. Just because you don't know anyone who has had such a problem doesn't mean that it doesn't happen or it isn't serious. Very disappointing to see such ignorant statements being made.

The only sources that said it was a suicide was the National Enquirer and Star. Not exactly known for their journalistic integrity.
As much as I am not a fan of Owen Wilson, probably more respectful to give him the benefit of the doubt until a real source, or the family themselves confirms this.
In other news, Bat Boy has taken up residence in Calgary.
