For me, it's tough to just look at a list and say good pick/bad pick as you don't know who was still around that you could have picked instead.

A couple of thoughts:
Peterson has potential to be your great pick
I'd be uneasy about Kitna as my prime QB but Smith, with the easy schedule SF has, could turn in a few good performances. Perhaps grabbing your QB in the 5th would have been more advantageous but I assume the likes of Manning, Palmer, Brees, Brady were already gone.

Manning went 8th
Palmer went 14th
Brees went 18th
Brady went 20th

7 QBs were taken in the first 2 rounds.

And as I type this, I've got my first trade request for an RB. They don't even specify who they want, just that they need a RB and I am weaker at WR.

My league does individual defensive players as well. Some coaches hate it. But I love it. Adds a whole new dimension.

You really recognize more of the defensive players after doing a pool with them.

But you need a good depth chart going into the draft. There were 140+ defensive players taken in this draft, and Yahoo doesn't rank them (at least not based on any criteria I can see)

Is that the order you drafted in?

I think you'll do pretty well, although personally I'm not sure Kennison is worth a roster spot. I'd find someone with a bigger upside.

I'm no fantasy expert, but I'm willing to bet that drafting the same guy twice is rarely seen as a winning strategy.
Yes I realize there are two of them.

LOL, I did that in the 2nd last round as a joke.

I should have qualified them:

3. Adrian Peterson (Minn)

and around round 18 I said, I should draft Adrian Peterson from the Bears as a joke.

And he was still there in round 22, so I figured he may get a decent number of touches behind Benson, so I grabbed him.

2 rookie RBs are a bit of a gamble, but they are both starting so they should put up steady points.

This league had quite a bit of turnover this year (the guy who used to organize it bailed, so I put it together a bit late) and as soon as a QB was taken a number of guys went on a QB run. I think they jumped too early, and their RB situation shows it. Similar thing happened with D players Ray Lewis was taken in the 5th rd (!) and suddenly DeMeco Ryans, Merriman, Thomas were coming off the board. No way I was going to grab a 'D that early. Hell, Lewis was taken before I had taken anything other than an RB!

Yahoo!s ranking is ######ed when it comes to defensive players. In the 12 team league that I host. We allways have a few guys that aren't up to snuff on the defensive players. During the live online draft. They will log off in the later rounds and let Yahoo pick the players for them. They get stuck with some real no names. For instance the first year we did defensive players. Yahoo! had Warren Sapp as the top defensive player. That was two seasons ago.

He is decent as a reserve. But with a novice QB this season. His catches may be few and far between.

No thats not the order....it went more Manning, Brown, Porter, Walker, Chargers, Moss, Holmes, Lynch, Berrian, Garcia, Kennison, Nedney.

Kennison is my 5th WR, Berrian will be in before. I just figured if somebody got injured and another guy is on a bye, he can fill in. The only reason i picked up Garcia (I was going to take schaub) is it mentioned he had an easy opponent on mannings bye week.

And that is a good reason to get Garcia, but I've always gone with the philosophy that early in the year my bench will be filled with sleepers and rookies. Guys who were underrated or under-utilized. If I grab them now and they take off, that gives me a great chance to win the pool. If they don't, I'll dump them closer to the bye week. I hate having guys on my bench waiting for a bye week.

You can't win the draft in the first 3 rounds (you can lose it), but I think you CAN win the draft in the last 3 rounds if you pick up the guy(s) on the verge of breaking out.

What is a good NFL fantasy site if you dont have a group of people to do one?

Any individual ones or a place you can just join a group?

You could see if there is interest in setting up another CP pool. I think there has already been one or two, but you could post a thread and guage interest.

Yahoo is very easy to set up and administer.

Or you can go on Yahoo and just join a public pool - there are hundreds of them begging for people to fill out their leagues.
