Pittsburgh?
Does someone here live in Pittsburgh? I remember reading some posts about the Mellon arena and thought a poster actually lives in the city.
Anyways, I'm doing a trip to NYC/Boston/Washington, DC/New Jersey in November, might tack on Pittsburg also.
How fast will tickets sell out for a early Nov game once they go on sale next month?

I went last March to watch a couple games and bought my tickets in February. They weren't the best seats, but they were decent and I could've had better if I had the money.

I don't know how much time you have to spare on your trip but usually that road trip goes Boston/NYC/Jersey/Philly/Baltimore/DC. Pittsburgh is actually about 3.5 hours from Philly, so closer to 4.5 from Jersey. You'd probably be looking at an extra 8 hours driving time between Jersey and DC.
Having been to both, I'd also recommend Philly over Pittsburgh.

Ahh, that was you Firefly! I'm just wondering how fast tickets are selling over there, I'd imagine pretty quick. I'll just wait until I get a ticket before I finalize my plans. DO you have any pics of the arena and city?
Rube, not doing any driving at all. Flying into NYC (Rangers), then hopping on a JetBlue flight to DC (Caps), then over to Boston for a comedy show and a Bruins game. Also hitting a Devils game on my back back to NYC from Boston.
I did Philly this Spring, loved the venue and the city, just want to hit a different rink while I'm out East.

Pittsburgh is pretty good, a few years ago me and 5 buddies did a Pitts, Philly, NY/NJ road trip it was good.
Pittsburg was probalby the funnest, but ugliest city of the bunch for me, but that had more to do with the games I went to see.
Whittynickname lives there and she was able to give me some tips about things to do there. All in all I'd say not a bad city to visit.
As for tickets, they will sell out fast if the sales two years ago are any indication (I'm guessing since the team is now half decent they will be hard to come by). We actually had to buy ours on stubhub.
That's my two cents. Good luck.

...BBS is mistaken, we bought those tickets on ticketmaster, and we were able to get six together when we bought them (probably it was in September)...that was for a Saturday night game too. We had to use stubhub for the Steelers tickets.
BBS is also mistaken because Pittsburgh was not ugly...downtown is actually pretty darn nice, although Mellon is a bit of a dump, and the City turns into an absolute ghost town in the evening.
...as far as distance though, 3.5 hours might even be optimistic...most people don't realize how far it actually is to Pittsburgh.

Kinda want to see the Igloo before it gets torn down.
Only $147CAD (tax in) for a return JetBlue flight from NYC, don't really care to drive across Pennsylvania.
I'm not into the stubhub thing, too expensive, I'd rather get ripped off by Ticketmaster.

Hmmmm, I could have sworn we had to go through stubhub. Oh well, even I can be wrong once in a while.
As for ugly, yes, downtown and near Heinz field was quite nice, but the area not immedialty near any of the stadiums got pretty ugly pretty quick.
