Default Golf courses around Canmore/Calgary

Heading down this weekend with a buddy to Canmore. Was planning on playing Silver Tip, but the 175 dollar fee is a bit of a deterrent. So we're looking for a nice course to play on Saturday, and then a place to play on Sunday. I played at the Links at Gleneagles and am considering that again, but if there are any other must-see courses, let me know. The price range should be a little lower than the 175 for Silver Tip, but if something is a must play, I'm all ears.

Thanks.

Well it's almost worth it to stalk someone and lead pipe them at Kananaskis to get a cancellation to get on that course. Great course and a fantastic deal. But unless you sabotage someone to force a last minute cancellation or no show no hope in hell you'll get on.

The Canmore golf (and curling club?) course isn't bad...

Stewart Creek will hit you pretty hard $$$ wise, but is a stunning course, and though you've played it Gleneagles is tough to beat.

My family are members at Stewart Creek, and there is twilight rates after 4 pm which is only $99 that not many people know about...it is an amazing course and soooo worth the money. It's a much more playable course than Silver Tip, and the twilight fees make it affordable if you don't mind going a bit later. My parents live in Canmore and so I'm there a lot and the afternoons are way better in terms of weather anyway.

Hope this helps and have a great weekend! Maybe I'll see you...golfing sunday...I guess that would require you to have a big sign that says "I'm oilers fan from CP" on your cart...wait, that might get you shot, never mind...hehe.

For some reason, I didn't even think Stewart Creek was in that area. I'm definitely going to try and get a tee-time there for this weekend. I'd rather play somewhere that I haven't been to before. Thanks for the tips.

Although perhaps more expensive Stewart Creek is a better track...Silver Tip IMO has too many goofy holes.

The 99 dollar twilight rate is appealing though. We may have to limit ourselves to other courses anyway, we don't even have tee times anywhere right now. I haven't tried yet either.

Yeah! I'm glad for you. Stewart Creek is seriously amazing, that's why Dad's a member. Have fun and play from the whites if you don't have a handicap below 14...which I assume you don't.

Stewart Creek was really nice, despite the fact that they kicked us off after 15 holes due to darkness. If there wasn't two slow groups in front of us, we would have been able to finish. 99 dollars was decent, but no clubhouse, and only 15 holes was fairly disappointing. Lousy weather today in Cochrane kept us from Gleneagles. Too bad. That course is beautiful.
