well the older movies get higher ratings since there's a lot fewer online reviews to poll from. i've never seen a movie released in the last few years score 100% there, there's always one jackass with a bad review that sqews the results
Take a look at the reviewes for Blood Simple though. There are a LOT.
Caught it this afternoon.
Michael Cera really makes the movie, his awkward delivery is just totally unique.
I thought it was really funny...not as good as say...Old School, but right up there.
I just got back from it. Seriously, it's great. The humour is crude, but if that doesn't bother you, go watch this movie. It's funny the whole way through.

I think it's a movie that will get better each time you watch it (up to a certain point of course). I liked Old School a whole lot more after owning it for a month than I did initially. Give Superbad a month on DVD and I think it might be as funny as Old School... which is the standard that I measure all comedies against.
What an amazing movie. Saw it tonight. Laughed my ass off. Everyone involved in the Apatow projects have an uncanny ability to create stories that are both accessable to broad audiences as well as appealing to their niche market - the dry, post-ironic humourists. I really have no idea how they manage to continuously do it, but their movies are infinitly relatable to a huge spectrum of people.
I thought it was funny, but the language was atrocious. Normally, I wouldn't say that, but I found the repeated crudity and cursing were really not necessary to an otherwise hilarious movie.
I throughly enjoyed this movie. So many good lines. It's up in Old School and Super Troopers territory for me. One thing I noticed is that the people in the movie actually look like they are in High School, instead of most Hollywood movies where high school kids are 25. I'll definitely be picking up this on DVD when it comes out.

If you think that teenage guys who are trying to get laid and drunk don't talk like that, you are in a world on your own. Sure, it was offensive, but I thought it was pretty damn accurate to my high school days.

I might be drunk right now, and I might not even be wearing pants, but dude, this movie is what growing up and trying to get laid was all about. People can take what they want out of my post, but that movie is a great window into 6 years ago for me. An honest portrayal of growing up....unless I'm the only one who thinks so. Honestly, if it's just me, I'm only joking.
He was the only one of the fence of looking like a highschool student. Still better than most movies. Take for example Transformers, that chick was way, way to hot/old for high school. Not that I didn't mind, I couldn't believe how much cleavage they squeezed into every scene with her. Anyways, what was I talking about?
