Bloom also had two catches for 16 yards and looked very comfortable out catching passes from Kevin Kolb. Barring any serious injuries, he should be the starting return man for the Eagles on opening night. He probably won't figure into the WR mix as the Eagles are fairly deep at the position.

What channel was the game on? NFL Network?
Edit: Probably Monday Night Football.

MNF had the Broncos/49ers...which I didn't get to watch. Broncos won 17-14.
Thanks for the Bloom update Rube. I've always admired the kid.

Eagles get some bad news as RB Ryan Moats is done for the year with a broken ankle. Really tough news for him as he's probably done as an Eagle, and quite possibly in the NFL. Third year kid out of Louisiana Tech but just cannot stay healthy. He's a very gifted back who I could see doing really well in a place like Denver.
He could be back with the Eagles next year, as the organization has shown outstanding loyalty to players with injury problems (i.e. Buckhalter, Mcdougle, McNabb) but I would be very surprised, especially with the way Tony Hunt seems to have solidified himself as the #2 back. If Moats ever ends up in the CFL, I could see him being a player like Charles Roberts.

Rumour that Larry Johnson and the Chiefs could reach a deal by as early as Thursday.
Also, Priest Holmes could be released. If Johnson signs, the Chiefs would have four HBs (LJ, Bennett, Kolby Smith, and Holmes). Holmes has yet to practice with the team and is still 10 days away from doing so.

More depressing news out of Eagles camp. DE Jerome McDougle is out for the year after tearing his triceps. Philly traded up to take him in the first round of 2003 draft. He was plagued by injuries in 2003 & 2004 and missed a combined 13 games in his first two seasons. In 2005 he was shot in the stomach and was placed on the PUP list, with some questioning if he would be able to return to football.
He had a mediocre 2006 season but was healthy for the entire season. So far in 2007, he'd been having a marvelous camp but with this latest injury, and it being his contract year, his career in Philly is probably over.

Evidently Kolby Smith has been very impressive. Didn't have good numbers against Cleveland though.
Wonder if Priest will end up somewhere else.

I think he said he would like to play in Texas if he doesn't stick with the Chiefs.
Sounds like the Chiefs feel Smith was a steal in the draft. Unfourtunatly it doesn't look like it matters who the Chiefs plug in at HB. That O-line can't create any openings anyway.

Looks like the Packers have decided to part ways with Ferguson.

Outside of Driver, that WR corp is looking young.

I wonder what Favre is thinking?

I'm sure every athlete would like to leave on top. But reality is that aint going to happen. I think playing in front of that crowd at Lamboeu Field on Sunday would be what keeps him going. That rush must be hard to walk away from.

No doubt, but I was referring to how he was so upset that they didn't try to bring in Moss to give another legitimate threat, and now they just parted ways with one of the 2 experienced WRs that they did have.
Driver has been a great target for a number of years, but he can't do it alone.
On another note, Gore is expected to be able to play in the final pre-season game. And Spencer isn't full healed from his injury last season, but will start the season as the nickle back.

^^Didn't he later say that the whole Moss thing was blown out of proportion?

Well, he asked for a trade, but then decided he wanted to end his career with the Packers.
Quote:
It's an attempt by the three-time MVP to calm the maelstrom that started when he spent Saturday venting about the Packers' front office in a handful of interviews at his charity golf tournament. Fox Sports' website reported Sunday that Favre's agent called Packers general manager Ted Thompson shortly after last month's NFL draft to request a trade.
That request was denied, according to the report, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy eventually calmed Favre down and got him to admit that he never really wanted to play elsewhere.
"Sometimes when I get frustrated, I let my emotions got the better of me," Favre said in the statement.

Garard Warren traded from the Broncos to the Raiders for draft pick.
Broncos trading with the Raiders?

yeah uncool, I like that about hockey, rivalries are true rivalries.
Although it is nice to see that kind of contract come off the books for Denver.

Hey, if you can get a pick for a guy you are going to release anyway you do it. Even if it is the Raiders. And I am very, very sure the Broncos/Raiders rivalry is as true a rivalry as you will ever see.
True hatred. No doubt in my mind.

yea the games are fun. I bought a F%$# the raiders shirt in the parking lot once, still wear it twice a year. But I guess you would never see the Flames and OIlers do a deal ... just wouldn't happen.

That division is just crazy - Chiefs, Broncos and Raiders hating each other with a passion.

I have worn a Flames jersey in Rexall, and was quite comfortable. I wore a Chiefs jersey to the Oakland Coliseum and was scared for my life the entire time.
