I've only seen one other poster make mention of the fact that the video states that the road was closed off to all other traffic. Is it not out of the realm of possibility that these (rich) owners actually somehow influenced and/or rented a section of road for this purpose?

However, I'm fairly certain deer don't read road signs...

They did a piece on this during the supper newscast. Those that examined that video stated the roads were NOT closed off.

As for the deer don't read signs.......

Who is going to be able to react better to that situation?

The idiot going 300 clicks?

Or the regular Joe going 80 clicks?

Some of the guys in that video that was posted earlier hired some lawyers today. They're pretty nervous.

They probably spoke with lawyers before doing this anyways. I have a feeling they know what they did and what they are doing.

Is it me, or did I see a car in the opposite lane a couple times?

They should be.

According to the RCMP they could be charged with dangerous driving.

whats the worst that could happen to them? Is it worse than confiscation of the vehicles, huge fines, and suspended licences?

But if caught, the drivers will be charged with dangerous driving which is a Criminal Code offence with a maximum penalty of five years in jail.

ha! rapists don't even get five years, hell people who drive drunk and kill a person don't even get a year, if these guys get jail time I'd be surprised.

Nice cars.

Are there any no-speed limit roads in Canada at all?

They were pretty stupid or egotistic to have their pictures on that video, now they'll pay.

Why? Do you have proof that everyone who owns an exotic car is taking part in this racing ring? I get cut off by people driving Honda Civics at least once a week. Should I run out and key every Civic I see?

No kidding, they'll probably be able to pay the "huge" fine with the cash in their front pocket. That'll be their punishment.

No. As far as I know the highest speed limit is 110kph.

http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Alberta/...19290-sun.html

Meanwhile a video posted on YouTube and produced by ZR Auto apparently shows two Ferraris and two Lamborghinis engaged in an all-out time trial down what appears to be an area straight secondary road, reaching top speeds ranging from 296 km/h to 339 km/h. Road signs are digitally removed from the video in an apparent attempt to disguise the location.

In the video, Rana is interviewed as saying, "at that time, I just wanted to go faster and faster. I just wanted to push and not give a damn about what the hell happened."

The video says the trial was conducted on a closed road, but Marzinzik said Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation have stated no highways had been closed to allow the time trials.

Rana, who refused to comment specifically about the video because it's under investigation, said the film is fiction and no more than a marketing tool.

They're not out racing -- racing is what kids with no brains do," he said.

"These cars look fast, they sound fast, but how do they know how fast they were going? The police haven't seen them going that fast."

High River RCMP Sgt. Larry Marzinzik said the grounds for their investigation are solid.

I can't beleve people are defending this, on the basis that these cars are built for speed. The cars may be, but people and our Alberta roads are not. I would think that if the RCMP charge these guys, the Judges involved are going to want to make examples out of them, and give them a pretty stiff punishment.

Boom!

This is PRECISELY why these idiots should be punished to the furthest extent possible.

They don't care about anyone else's safety.....period. I have no problem with them taking themselves out, but inevitably they tend to take someone else out or with them.
