lol seriously though... the only option i can think of is the local junk-it guys, but spending $80 to get rid of a $200 matress seems a little ridiculous.

I don't know of any charity that will take a mattress. One of the biggest cost to a lot of charities is dumping, they get so much crap they had to stop taking certain items. Don't have a buddy with a truck? i bet it'd cost less than 5 bucks at the dump if you could get it there. otherwise, you might have to bite the bullet and pay for someone to come haul it away.

Its a futon. So may just fold it into the back of my gfriends car and take it to the dump. What a pain though. You'd think we could just pay the garbage men an extra 20 and get them to take it.
But this does give me an idea. I could cut the matress into parts and slowly have it taken away in the garbage.

And you thought asking CP for advice was a good idea why?

I'm actually trying to get rid of a newish mattress and bed... and was thinking of donating it if someone picks it up for me. Who would do that?

Actually, I was going to say dumpster, but at least make sure it fits with lots of room to spare. Preferably a commercial one.
My neighborhood's street is littered with dumpsters from infill construction, and me dumping whatever crap I have to dispose of in them is my form of "rent". Considering my street parking is taken up by these... I don't feel so bad really.
