To me, that's huge, either in terms of the Flames being able to use them going forward or selling them for value.
Frost in particular is very interesting ... if he's legitimately a fit between Gridin and Coronato, do we see CGY lock him up long-term?

At this point, he is the de facto #1C. Let's see if he steps up his game to meet the expectations. I don't expect him to become a 1C, but his spot right now on the team is to show he can bring the offense.

Gridin ridin the Lightning in that OT. I don't think we can call him a prospect anymore, he's a regular.
Glad the Flames snapped Kucherov's streak and prevented him from tying Mario's record of a 6-game streak of 3+ points on the road.
Calgary's recent play is even more impressive when you consider they've had four goals called back in the past few games.

Yup. I was wondering if we might see them trade him at the draft but now I can't see that happening. Craig hasn't signed too many pending UFAs to new deals so I'm fascinated to see how it plays out.
Farabee and Sharangovich have been a really good duo on the PK. It's been a really nice development. Makes me think they might be able to get some value out of those $5m+ contracts.

Gridin reminds me of Pavel Bure, without the top end speed. But even his skating stride.

You said "this team started rebuilding 2 years ago and it's now starting to bear fruit"
What players have we added to the roster over the past 2 years who are winning games for us?
Gridin? Yes. Very young player making an impact. Other than that... Strome, Matta, Frost, Farabee each have at least 5 points in the last 10 games. Whitecloud has been very solid on the blueline. Cooley's been great in net.
So if your definition of rebuilding is acquiring guys around the 25-30 age range, well then I guess you're going to think that our rebuild is already at the point where we start to see results.
I see things very differently from you. These wins aren't the result of the Flames being a good team. Some of these wins are against teams playing on a 2nd half of a back to back and/or playing their backup goalie. Some of these wins are the result of the Flames playing pressure-free hockey and enjoying themselves, playing extra hard to earn jobs and ice time for next year. The result of this can often times overcome a talent deficit, even a substantial one.
But don't get it twisted. This is not a good team. Not at this particular time.
I get that every win should be celebrated. That's what makes being a fan fun. But at the same time, I cringe anytime I see someone look at a few wins and think golly gee, we're actually good! When we're really not. Not at this moment anyway. Don't fall into that trap. The trap that kept us in mediocrity for 20+ years.
Rebuilds can't be rushed. Not proper ones, anyway. Stay the course. Celebrate the wins, embrace the losses. We need to draft a couple of elite talents before we can begin any talk of being a good team.

That's not what I see. He reminds me more of a guy like Charlie Simmer, quietly lethal.

I am enjoying the Gridin show. Flames have 3 potential franchise core players:
Wolf
Parekh
Gridin
I will add Wyttenbach to that potential.
What is interesting is what do you do with Cooley? He is quickly making a case for himself as a franchise goalie. He is a terrific problem to have.
Well done Conroy and the scouting team - both pro and amateur. The pro scouting used to be so such a weakness, and for way too many years I have seen too many: "Fire Sigalet" posts. Cooely is a beast. Whitecloud looks like a cornerstone on the defensive end. Ditto for Bahl. Maatta was a useless player - but somehow he has been great. Flames have really done their homework with Strome - what a great leader.
Keeping Coleman at the deadline was a fantastic move. He is such a great leader.
As for the tank - don't worry, there are a lot of hard games. I will be surprised if the Flames don't finish 2nd last. Even if they don't, I 100% agree with Jiri's post earlier in this thread - 3-8 or so seems like a single tier to me, or almost a single tier. If the Flames end up picking 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th, they will be picking a cornerstone player. Whether it is Verhoeff, Carels, Reid, Malhotra, Bjorck, Smits - potentially a couple of other prospects pushing to be in this range - they will be bringing in a cornerstone. I'll take that - plus a decent shot at the lottery.
What a play by Gridin. He really does remind me a lot of Bure for some reason. Just so hard to contain with his strength, skating, IQ and shot. Underrated playmaker too as we are finding out. He will be a top-line player for the Flames for the next decade.

Really? I guess I cringe when something good is actually happening and people cant see it.
The fact that Gridin is here is a direct result of trading away their #1 center.
Bryz playing on this team is a direct result of trading away their #1 center.
The fact that Wolf is playing numerous games for this team (last year) is a direct result of selling off their #1 goalie.
Bahl playing on this team is a direct result of this team trading away their #1 goalie.
When vets leave, it opens up space for other players to grow. I dont consider Frost old. A transitional piece...probably. But he was 25 when they traded for him. Not "old".
They are 100% going to acquire guys in the 25-30 range again in the next 2-4 years. I promise. Every team does.
Enjoy the win. No need to make excuses for when they play well. Not every team loses a back to back game.

Strome has been playing at a .667 PPG pace since joining the team which is 55 pts over a 82 game season.
He never exceeded 41 points in his 4 years in Anaheim. Could be a decent flip next deadline

Way to completely miss the point. I never said there wasn't something great happening here. I said this team isn't good at this particular moment in time.
And I also saw this team frantically rush a rebuild following the 2nd round appearance in 2015. And I'll be damned straight to hell if they rush this one too.
And I never said Frost was old (lol?) I said acquiring him and Farabee wasn't a rebuilding move, it was a smart move by Conny, a value move, but not a rebuild move. Trying to cite recent games by these two players as evidence of a rebuild bearing fruit is... a bit silly I'd say.
Any team can get hot for short bursts while they are playing pressure-free hockey. I don't know why you think these recent games are anything other than that.

I got your point. It's just a bad point.
You asked for me to provide you players acquired over the past two years that are helping them. I provided you with a list of players that were acquired via trades that happened at the start of their rebuild. All of which are playing for them right now.
Next.

Gridin actually reminds me of Monahan more, I know he’s a winger but. Monny never really used his size like Hossa did, Gridin could be successful in the way Monahan was
