When there were 5 teams in a division, the SE was won with a 94 points twice. Since they changed to 8 teams, it's never been done with less than 100 points. Anaheim is on pace for 94.
It's laughable how bad it is. Ottawa is super mid, and they are 5 points out of WC2, but would be leading the Pacific by one point with games in hand on EDM and VGK.

If Gary won't do 1-8 seeding, there really should be a crossover. If you are 3 points or more clear of WC1 or WC2 in the other conference, you get their spot. Both the NYI and OTT would be in a position to take the West spots.

To get back on topic, is anyone truly surprised that Florida ran the Oilers #### yet again? And never mind not having Pissy, FLA is missing 3 key guys. They are missing the playoffs by a mile, but they had enough pride to ensure the Oilers knew who their daddy still is.

I like the goal when Bouchard and Nurse both played left defense, and the Florida player was all alone on the right side.

The old Evan Bouchard controller disconnect, one of my favorites. The best part is Oiler fans are mad at Nurse for it, not the guy playing RD . . . .

We really need SJ to get hot. Seattle schedule is rough and NSH is no good. If I had to predict right now I would say it goes:

ANA
LA
VGK

Edmonton vs Dallas round 1 (Dallas wins division)

Maybe a Pacific team will actually win a game in the next couple days....

We may need to go full unethical tank in the final game of the year if LA is on the cusp of passing edmonton

LA looks to have the best schedule but they’re Kings at choking when it matters. Anaheim probably has enough opportunity there to stay in the top 3. Vegas better get it together or they’ll be WC2 or worse leaving the Oilers with another first round and home ice against the Kings.

Frederic apparently hurt v panteros and didn’t practice today. And the iceman doesn’t like to play defence even in Bakersfield so oilers may dump him in the offseason.

And now knobby house elf is making the fanbase mad!

It’s all falling apart!

If they bought him out, they'd be paying him until 2040. That's a lot of time to make fun of the Oilers.

Trent Frederic is out for the foreseeable future, it will take roughly 0.5 Tobias Reiders to replace his 6 points (Reider had 11 with the oilers).

The inverse is also true. It will take twice as many “journalists” to write about how important Frederic has become to justify his contract.

Seeing Vegas, LA, Seattle, Chicago and Van on the NG schedule makes me think they're in even without PeePee Drizzle.

Don't trust any of those teams to get the job done against them.

LA is also too inconsistent to make up the 5 point gap.
