If Oilers play .500 hockey the rest of the way they finish with 89 points, in order for them to miss the playoffs we need the other Pacific bubble teams to do this the rest of the way.

Anaheim: 77 pts - 15 Games Remaining - 6-8-1 - 90 points
Vegas: 76 pts - 15 Games Remaining - 7-8-0 - 90 points
Seattle: 71 pts - 16 Games Remaining - 9-6-1 - 90 points
San Jose: 70 pts - 17 Games Remaining - 10-7-0 90 points
Los Angeles:71 pts - 15 Games Remaining - 9-5-1 - 90 points

And remaining Strength of Schedule:

1: LA - .494
2: Anaheim - .512
4: San Jose - .521
5: Utah - .526
6: Vegas - .537
7: Oilers - .550

Edmonton remaining schedule has lots of head to heads with the teams they are battling with here but lots of home games:

San Jose
Florida
Tampa Bay
@Utah
@Vegas
Anaheim
Seattle
Chicago
Vegas
@Utah
@San Jose
@Los Angeles
Colorado
Vancouver

San Jose needs to beat Edmonton tonight to start a long losing streak for the Pigs.

Be nice if the other loser western teams could get their crap together and do everyone a favour by bouncing the greasers out of a playoff spot.

Not sure if it’ll happen though.

I'd prefer no playoff at all, I don't want fluke and refs get their hands on this.

Oilers are 30-40-8 without Draisaitl in his career as an Oiler.

If they can go 6-8-0 with him out of the lineup and finish with 87 points that would really open up the door for the other teams.

If they go 6-8-0 it's a certainty. Because most of their games are against teams they're racing.

Even NSH and WPG would have an outside shot of catching them.

Okay I know we joked about it, but knowing now he is gone for the season, WTF Oilers medical staff?

Obviously but the West sucks so bad low 90s and even high 80s might make the playoffs. Keeping them out of the Pacific bracket would be nice.

That would be quite the slap in the face from the hockey gods if one year the Flames miss the playoffs with 97 points and then the very next year the oilers make the playoffs with 90 points.

I mean come on, WTF?

It's quite possible that the entire division doesn't get 96 points.

It was actually suggested to me today that Mavi has a left arm injury.

I'd love to see the sharks surpass the Oilers, the Oilers miss the playoffs so we can talk about Celebrini instead of McDavid.

Just a thought, I know Pissy is gone for the regular season. What if, last game of the season, they are one point out. Win, they're in, lose they are out. Will Pissy be forced to come back early?

It'll be like the football coach in ‘Not Another Teen Movie’.

‘Can he play?’
‘Coach, he's in a coma.’
‘Just answer the question, goddammit! Can he play?’
