Should Palestine have taken the 1947 partition deal? I know it seemed unfair at the time and the leaders would have been called stupid for taking it but they've lost land ever since because Israel has a blank cheque.

In retrospect every deal Palestine has ever been offered has always been the one they should have taken, that said since the rise of the religious right hand in hand with Netanyahu in Israel I can't see them sticking to any deal anyway so at this point it's moot

The one offered by Rabin and Peres that included among other things an elevated freeway across the Negev Desert connecting the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and a free trade zone for Israel, Palestine and Jordan would have been the game changer.

Until October 7 I used to think the worst day in the history of Israel was the day Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated.

Israel said Tuesday it killed two senior Iranian security officials in overnight strikes in a major blow to the country’s leadership. Tehran defiantly fired new salvos of missiles and drones at its Gulf Arab neighbors and Israel in a war that showed no signs of abating.


Both Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s all-volunteer Basij force, were “eliminated last night,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said. Following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in an airstrike on the first day of the war, Larijani was considered one of the most powerful figures in the country.

Both men were key to Iran’s violent crackdown on protests in January that challenged the theocracy’s 47-year rule. Iranian state media did not immediately confirm either death. The killings would strip Iran of important leaders as the Islamic Republic faces its greatest test in recent decades in its war with the United States and Israel.

This is why it is so important to have strong media and journalism. Professionals to try and get to the truth. The world has lost a lot of that in the past decade, and I don't think we can count on influencers and podcasters to fill in the gaps.

Which media is not compromised though? Genuinely, I'm not asking that to start a back and forth scrap.

Our media and it's "journalists" in recent history seem to be the greatest purveyors of propaganda. Or maybe it only seems "recent" because of my age - 38. Perhaps it's been going on for decades/generations and I was just too young to understand (or not alive).

An interesting quote from Joe Kent this morning, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center who just resigned due to America's involvement in Israel's war with Iran:

"Early in this administration, high-ranking Israeli officials and influential members of the American media deployed a misinformation campaign that wholly undermined your America First platform and sowed pro-war sentiments to encourage a war with Iran. This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent thread to the United States..."

Pretty great how Israeli demolition teams just roll into Lebanon and level an entire building because "Hezbollah was using it". Like, come on guys. It's a building. It didn't do anything wrong. If it's infested with rats, deal with the rats. But no, better to leave a pile of rubble behind for the rest of the citizens to have to deal with and navigate around. Great neighbours to have.

Iran’s Minister of Intelligence Esmaeil Khatib was killed overnight in a precision strike, a senior Israeli official told Fox News.

Khatib was responsible for overseeing Iran’s entire global terror apparatus, including sleeper cells in locations around the world. His targeting was a joint U.S. and Israeli effort on the intelligence front.

“This man had American blood on his hands. His network specifically targeted current and former U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump,” the official added.
