Okay...I'll eat a little bit. I found the last episode to be pretty decent.
Not great, not classic, but pretty decent. Tig Notaro did a TON of the heavy lifting on this one but at least Giamatti helped her out.
But...maybe? Maybe this show might find its feet? It just really doesnt feel like Star Trek though.
And I've said it before and I'll say it again and I'll keep saying it...one of the most awesome parts of Star Trek are the ships aaaand.....these ships suck.
They are not cool looking, they seem pretty crappy overall...they just...they suck.
In the words of the great man himself....

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Yeah, it was the best episode of a tremendously bad TV show, and it just wasn't all that interesting of an episode.
The show runners have basically announced that Paul Giamatti won't be back in season 2, and with season 3 likely not happening the whole character has become a waste, and the best actor on the series who made ridiculously badly written dialogue seem good has left the Trek Universe.

He's a busy man. Thing is...they're pissing away Star Trek's 'Goodwill.'
Star Trek used to be a show that actors, musicians and countless other famous people clamored for cameos!
This appears to be diminishing.

It has been announced that both Giamatti and Maslany won't be back for season 2. Their storylines were the basis for most of season 1, even when they weren't in an episode, so who knows where they'll go for season 2.

Season 2 has already been shot. They wrapped a couple of weeks ago. Unless things change significantly, I can't see it getting a third season, but they'll most-likely release the second.
