I've been to Phoenix a ton because my uncle/business partner lived down there. Been there in the summer and winter. It's a shthole every single time. I hate the desert vibe and I particularly hate the heat. Everything is ugly and nasty. Just an awful place.

The best part of Phoenix area is the hiking and day trips around it. I've mostly been situated in the Mesa area when we visit and a 45-60 min drive from there gets you to incredible places to hike, explore, and experience.

But yea, the city itself is just another big city. The zoo is pretty awesome though.

We hit their version of Zoologhts this year and it was excellent. I did miss snow on the ground, but the temperature was perfect.

Guess you can't have everything...

In the middle of the day, sure. I bet it’s beauty from 7-11 am and 7-11 pm.

Yes but if the time change thread has taught me anything it’s that life isn’t worth living if it’s dark out. That rules out at least half those timeframes.

Canmore, but with all the locals moved out and only out of towners living there in second homes.

There's no chance a day with a high of 101 degrees is okay during the morning and evening.

Why would a utopia be either sweltering or frozen?

Too hot or cold for bears, dogs and teachers.

It's dark at 7pm here most of the year, Arizona doesn't observe DST.

If you want to do anything outside (hiking, golf) it's the early window and that's it.

For the golfers, if you aren't teeing off by 2pm, you likely aren't going to finish if the tee sheet is full. I am a stone's throw from the night course and am going to sneak a twilight round in next week.

We'll be down there on Thursday for 10 days for my son's baseball spring training. We have a couple of 1:30 starts. Not looking forward to that.

Your fault for choosing baseball. Insomnia cure.

I'm not so sure about that. I think I would take it over -14C in middle of March.

I jest, and actually am laughing at myself because that's where I'm going for spring break next week
