Only 12 goals though and up until last night's game, he wasn't even the leading scorer on his team. Not saying Hage isn't deserving either, but Wyttenbach has done significantly more with less.
Wytter probably won't win though because the Hobey race has become more of a popularity contest than actually being about the best player in College hockey.

I gotta say, I really want this one. But not enough to spend $400 on it.

I would take that bet. McKenna had such a disappointing first half of the year that it has likely killed his hopes. The Hobey Baker tends to lean into consistency and body of work. Points aren't the biggest factor, consistency is. That is actually where Wyttenbach may have the best argument as he has been crazy consistent all year. He hasn't been like McKenna and needed an 8 point game to be in the scoring race. He's just been consistent all year long.

They'll want the big NHL star to be a former winner. If they have a reason to give it him, they will give it to him. In the 'old days' guys like Makar, Celebrini, Fantilli wouldn't have won it, but its changed ever since Eichel won it.
Kariya was the only young guy who won it in the old days and that was after he had a historical season. Its new era.

During the intermission, Francis said he talked to Wyttenbach the other night in NYC and it sounds like he's planning on going back to college next year.

I don't think the Flames want too many players turning pro at the same time. They will start to cannibalize each other's ice time on the Wranglers.
Better for Wyttenbach and Reschny to be top dogs on their respective teams. Ideally, both would be in contention for the Hobey next year.

Wyttenbach sounds like a character in the Harry Potter books.

I suspect that at the end of next year we will have a lot of NCAA graduates:
Reschny
Wyttenbach
Potter
Jamieson
Mews and Hoskins will likely need another year.
The Wranglers will be great in 2027/28.

Mix those in with whoever the flames get in the draft with their own pick this year and whoever they get with their own pick next year. Then add in whoever they get with their other 1sts and 2nds in the next two drafts. The prospect pool is about to reach a crazy level of depth it’s likely never seen. The roster in the new arena will be young and very exciting.

When has the NCAA ever cared about what a pro league had to say about any of their awards or the NCAA try to spin an award to appease one of the pro leagues? Never. They don't care and they vote the way they want and assess the way they choose to assess the players they pick. There is a reason why their ballot is skewed the way it is, even for the fan vote. They understand what they are voting on and frame that ballot accordingly.

Yes, Quinnipiac dropped game 1 of their best-of-three against Clarkson, 3-0.
Game 2 starts in 15 mins and game 3 is tomorrow if Quinnipiac can tie the series today.
