Interesting that the oil price calamity that was created calmed down after just a hint that the G7 is willing to open up the strategic reserves (with Trump likely making an announcement himself soon).

Turns out actions like full scale war have repercussions that aren't necessarily desired and having a rogue partner like Israel who has different objectives and its own agenda may not work out as planned. Who knew that Iran would shut out the Strait of Hormuz after it's existence is being attacked, and the world panics when vast amounts of oil depots get bombed and toxic black oil rain drenches who you claim to be wanting to help?

Reports out there that a senior member of the Israeli regime, Ben Gvir has been either hurt or killed. BBC say it was a minor car accident with minor injuries while other sources are saying it was a targeted missile strike.

The issue (and my point I've been making recently) is if you constantly search for for anti-west information or anti-Israel info or search for info with a bias on such, you are bound to get fed significant misinformation from extremely dubious sources which only further exacerbate a perception. Misinformation isn't a far right phenomenon. Social media sites like TikTok, X and BlueSky pick up on a search trend and will feed you more similar information. Without knowing it, you are now only being sourced misinformation catered specifically to feed you what you want.

The sources in question I found perpetrating the Ben Gvir incident were extreme anti-semitic or russian sources. And the one that Fuzz linked is from an antisemitic 'doctor' with dozens of misinformation posts like that per day. There's 'reports' of Americans dying by the dozens in hotels and bases, fake videos of Tel Aviv in complete ruins against a barrage of ballistic missiles with no Iron Dome defending it, and Netenyahu's brother Iddo Netanyahu killed, all sorts of crap being propagated. They are usually propagated by social media accounts of fake news sites or fake doctors and teachers (where suddenly someone with a PhD after their name gets used as an authoritative source).

It's no surprise that Fuzz was able to so quickly source anti-Semitic misinformation. The algorithm is feeding him that stuff constantly but at least it is from the "good guys" at Bluesky and not Twitter or Facebook.

I don't search for anti anything stories. In my post, I even mentioned that I'm seeing contradicting takes on it. My mistake though was posting and not spending the time to see if it was reliable or not. I admit I jumped the gun probably because I was too excited that a member of the leadership of a murderous regime was potentially dead.
