We should start a referendum to judge the support for that, and then get it legislated.

Hear ye, hear ye! All those treasonous swine who deem Alberta broken and unlivable, shall, on failing to achieve separation, be separated for time eternal from the province they loath so deeply. Let their souls ache no more.

They would fit in nicely in Northern Idaho.

I have yet to hear a single valid reason for separation. One that makes sense financially for Alberta/the people.

Any Separatists in here want to give it a shot ?

I sitll think we should have a poll that asks who on our forum wants separation. Anonymous is fine.

This is what I don't get about these separatist losers. If they really hated Canada so much, they could simply pack up their s*** and immigrate to whatever country they want. All it takes is some planning and paperwork.

But no, instead they're aiming for a much more complicated, destabilizing and stupid process that would not only be completely disastrous for Alberta, its citizens, its industries, and their quality of life...but would also take years of litigation and negotiations before it ever became a reality. It just blows my mind how f***ing stupid and out of touch with reality these morons are.

I don't think they can. I spoke to a couple of them, and they just blindly believe the crap the leaders come out with. They think business will boom without the federal interference, and we'll have this massive amount of money to spend on ourselves.
They also still think they'll have Canadian passports and the Canadian dollar, and thinking the USA would invade and take over Alberta is all lies.

They also think that Alberta will get Banff & Jasper in the negotiations, and the indians (their word) will have no choice but to get on board or get left behind. They don't get to choose what happens to the land they're on.

They're just listening to the fantasy and won't debate what might happen in reality. Oh. and one specifically said the we'll finally get rid of woke and control immigration properly, because the immigrants are getting more freebie's than they deserve and getting more than a true Albertan is getting.

It's easier to understand when you recognize the reality that these people are not smart enoguh to tie their own shoelaces. Looking for logic and nuance is like trying to find a flake of gold in dog vomit. It's possible it's there, but it's gonna be covered in chunder and not worth the mess to find it.

FFS. Albertans have it so rough that they vacation in Mexico mid winter. I imagine they are telling people in PV that life in AB is rough.

They have zero brains. Old dude was sitting on the side of highway 8 on his lawn chair during -30 a couple weeks ago. My son (who happens to have a megaphone in his car), let him know what he thought of him.

The one guy is wearing a "Whistle Stop Cafe" shirt. Probably the same chud involved with the covid-denier/concoy movement. It's like a Venn circle with those losers.

Money and decision making obviously. Keeping all tax revenues and making all decisions would be a monumental benefit to Alberta.

Would Canada ever allow it to happen? Of course not and there's a 1000 ways Canada could make the smaller, surrounded country feel pain. The whole idea is based around Canada making a fair deal which they would obviously have no incentive to do. America is the wild card but in that case Alberta's voice is diluted even more so what's the point in switching?

I thought maybe that was that train/restaurant Smith owned but yeah, it's some dump in Mirror AB that defied pandemic rules. They got acquitted on a technicality (the Crown recommended acquittal) and declared a great victory.

The Venn diagram of separatists and trump supporters in Alberta would be a circle.

Some gross, bigoted slob that hates the same people they do and who only exists for the grift makes wild proclamations that absolve them of any responsibility and promises them their wildest dreams will come true and they fall in line without a critical thought.

Something, something you cant reason people out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

That "monumental" benefit you claim would be "monumentally" miniscule compared to the negatives. Miniscule can also describe something else.

I still don't understand how it's been unfair. Should schools in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Calgary get more money per student, than schools in smaller communities? Those smaller communities are being subsidized by the tax payers in these locations with higher incomes? I prefer that tax dollars are spread out evenly per student to ensure that all Alberta schools have the same quality of education.

I hope Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary separate from Alberta.

Because they want more money and control is the obvious answer.

Alberta gives more per capita but has a small population. Meaning they aren't making decisions. So not only would you get a raise you would now be the one making decisions. And ya, that same logic would likely go to smaller circles than the province. They would want more money and control to their community as well over the province.

If you are happy putting all the money into a pot and deciding things collectively thats fine but is it actually that hard to understand why some people are just like nah, we'll just deal with it internally.

This thought process is unreal. Alberta would get a monumental benefit! Except for the economy shrinking because of barriers we create by separating and all the added costs of being our own country. Stupid Canada, this is their fault for taxing us the same as everyone else and making it fair for everyone and not just fair for Alberta. It's not fair. I'm a victim, wah wah wah.

THATS WHAT BEING A COMMUNITY/PROVINCE/COUNTRY IS. Your projection of FYGM is unreal. JFC there are some caricatures on this board but you are by far the most disassociated from reality.

Yes, as I said in like the following sentence there is many ways that Canada could harm the country. Be very easy to set up trade embargo's/tariffs/regulatory on a surrounded land locked region. That's essentially why its a dead idea.
