Yeah, but Conklin was a fill in. 60 games over 3 seasons.

Scrivens was decent before Edmonton. He went from .931 in LA to .918 and then .890 in Edmonton. Then he rebounded to .906 in Mtl, and that was it. He'd been ruined.

They chew up goalies. Their 5th top GP goalie is Cam Talbot. Skinners 6 years is tied for 4th most seasons with Salo.

i would absolutely LOVE for them to miss the playoffs - oh it would be soooo glorious!!!
I’m pretty sure their 2026 1st is no longer top 12 protected now because the Mangiapane trade commits their 2027 1st to Chicago. Imagine Edmonton missing and winning one of the draft lotteries. Miss playoffs. Give away top 5 pick in draft because they had to dump Mangiapane’s contract. McDavid trade request in summer.

WOW! Do they even have a first round pick in the next three years?

The Oilers are fortunate that the West for the most part is weak. Last year the last wildcard spot was at 96 points.

Right now the Oilers are ontrack for a pathetic 87 points.

That would need a 10-9 record, in pure wins and losses.

However you have to almost accept that one of the pursuing of the last wildcard slot or last Pacific division is going to pick it up.

So if we think the Medoza line is lets say 91 points for the Oilers to either secure the last pacific slot or wild card slot, the oilers would literally have to go 12-7 or a 631 win percentage basically. Last year they were a .616 team. Seattle and San Jose and maybe LA are still in this to steal the Oilers playoff slot.

The Oilers still have real fundemental problems, add to that they have looked mentally checked out on the details of the game as well. I don't think TJ is going to turn his game around, and Ingram is probably better then TJ, but he's still capable of breath takingly bad performances.

I expect that the Oilers will replace the house elf with Coffey if the Oilers lose 2 out of the next 3. Do they bring up good guy Pickard from the farm and pray he can replicated his hero's journey from last year? He's been ok on the farm, and it sounds like there are problems between the don't blame us leadership group of Conna, Leon and the Bouch Bomb and TJ.

Are there other moves that the Oilers can do like actually give the ball to other players then Conna and Leon in terms of shifts and see what they can do.

This is a really old roster, Maybe they should bench one of Nurse or Walman or move Nurse down to a third pairing role, bring in Stastney and put Murphey on the second pairing to shake things up.

I honestly think the Oilers are in big trouble. We're asking a older team that has honestly played under .500 hockey this year to play near elite hockey for the next 19 games. I would feel better about Seattle or San Jose with fresher younger legs to go on a hot streak then a Oilers team that looks completely defeated even when they do win.

They're just so no good man.

JB would be absolutely lit up in Edmonton and they would have to overpay big time

2028 they do. The problems with the Oilers is that they rarely get things right after the first round picks, which is going to be really key for them over the next 3 years.

And I'm thinking that their 2028 will be in play this summer as pressure mounts to get Conna his cup.

Article out today from the delusional Oiler media that Bouchard should 100% be considered for the Norris trophy. Do any of these people actually watch or understand the game? I wouldn’t even put Bouchard in the top 10.

I'd love it if they package Jarry with 2028 first for Binnington.

I found this rather amusing.

Congratulations to Frederic for putting up half of what Kuznetsov's points are.

The base picks would be 21 total as 3 x 7? With expected 6 in first two rounds?

I’m guessing 100 is the base “value” with the weighted value being representative of the Flames picks near the top?

On thread: And oilers not.

They almost certainly have to dump someone meaningful for draft picks, however that slams the door because while it would open cap room, no one is signing for one or two seasons only with wonder boy.

Trading for picks means that no player is coming back.

Quite the mess. It’s beautiful.

With their super natural luck, we don’t want them near draft lottery.

Thanks to their management's ineptitude, they are not.

They are only 4 points ahead of #22 and a shot at first overall pick.

Yes, but the Sharks have their pick. No protection after the Dickinson trade.

Just to be clear. There's never a reason not to hope the Oilers miss the playoffs. They had the stars align at the draft last decade and it still didn't help them win a cup. Not even good draft lottery fortune can change the fact that the Edmonton Oilers are no good.

They are acting like this was some massive win vs. a top team. Vegas is struggling big time and missing their top forward. Both teams are in the bottom half of the league

The Pacific is so butter soft, it looks like the division winner won't even get to 90 points and the Flames missed the damn playoffs last year with 97. Brutal

Anyways, because of this the oilers will probably not only make the playoffs, but get a divisional spot and then cake walk their way to the conference finals again and face a Central team that has had to grind their way through a bloody gauntlet.
