Hey, we haven't had one of these in awhile...but since there are so many new animes now, lets hear your favorites!
I've been watching a few new ones...Claymore, D.Gray-man, and History's strongest disciple Kenichi...and of course, the usuals like Naruto and Bleach (which suck ass right now because of horrible fillers).
So I just wanted to let my fellow anime watching cp'ers know that you have got to start watching Claymore. I had no idea it was that good. The stories and arcs are so incredibly well done, I think it's fast becoming my favorite anime. The fight scenes are well drawn with a ton of depth. I can't give Claymore enough praise. Simply one of the most incredible animes I have ever seen. Not to mention having probably one of the best opening and closing music.
oh wait.... are you talking about the real stuff..
Well... i used to watch it a bunch right around the time Ghost in the Shell came out, but i have not seen anything in awhile. The closest thing would i quess be Animatrix.
I do want to get back into it, as i always enjoyed it. Just finding the time is the issue... and specific recommendations.... ones with lots of fighting and great battle scenes?
I was never a huge fan of real anime but I've liked a few movies such as Ninja Scrolls, Princess Mononoke, Dirty Pair and Dragon Knight.
I'd be interested in watching something dealing with like, angels and demons if you can suggest anything of that nature. There's always anime pictures with characters who have angelic qualities, so there's gotta be some flicks out there of that sort.
I mostly miss the old films that were sort of done in anime style like Flight of Dragons, The Last Unicorn and the Lord of the Rings.

Going to check out Claymore tonite
I think you'll enjoy Claymore. Story is about these female warriors called "Claymore" who slay demons called "yoma." The story centers around a young female Claymore called Clare who battles these demons. I would say give it 5 episodes before you make your conclusion if you want to continue with the series or not, but most likely you'll keep watching. I won't give too much away because the story and battle sequences are what makes this anime awesome. It is also one of the rare fast moving animes, unlike Dragon Ball Z, which they drag it out like 50 episodes for one fight scene.
I really wasn't too keen on watching it at first. It actually took me a month before I gave in, even after repeatedly hearing fantastic reviews for it.

Powerplayoffs06, then Claymore should suit you fine. Check out my post above this one.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
Giant earth destroying angels versus cloned human made robotic angels.
Yeah, Neon Genesis Evangelion is great...but I won't say too much. I'll just say the ending wasn't exactly what I expected it to be. Is that good or bad, well, you'll probably have to watch it to decide for yourself.
Check out one piece. It's pretty much the only anime I follow anymore. Basically it's just a really fun pirate adventure series with a great epic storyline. Don't let the dubbed version fool you, check out the subbed one here http://kaizoku-fansubs.com/
