Thank you very much for these polls Jiri! They really give a better picture about how members as a whole are feeling about things than the discussions do.

We have 3 moments all year to get excited. The trade deadline, the lottery and the draft.

BUT, at least our team made the decisions necessary to start building that next group that could hopefully get there soon.

This is the part that sucks now. The slog of getting mad at Vancouver and New York for losing more than us and gaming out who to draft. It's 100 times more fun to be a fan of a team like 2021-2022 or 2018-2019.

More than happy to do them
Sometimes it seems like the board is in constant agreement and these polls help to provide a measurable pulse check

We traded our best defenseman and our best center. We got plenty of picks. We are now positioned well to finish 2nd last. They 100% have picked a direction now. What more could you want?

I would also ask which team in recent history has sold off more assets over a few year span for picks and prospects than we have? Kadri, Andersson, Weegar, Lindholm, Markstrom, Hanifin, Tanev were all traded. We got plenty of picks in the upcoming drafts and recent draft history has been solid for us.

This is exactly what a lot of us have wanted to have happen for a while. How could you possibly not like what has transpired over the last 48 hours. If we draft well and get some lottery luck the next few years, we have a chance to become an elite team years down the road.

I’m sincerely pleased you are happy and looking forward to you and l not being at odds so much, as two fans passionate about their team.

I kind of had a similar feeling, and I felt he lost a couple of trades because of his player friendly focus and lack of cut throat tactics (Tanev to Dallas and especially hanafin to Vegas).

But he seems to have grown a lot in the way he deals as players are still going to teams they generally want to play for and yet he’s getting a pretty good return anyway.

Part of it is embracing the earlier trade where a player still has term left so he can always walk away, like they did with Markstrom and initially did with kadri and probably did with Coleman.

I think this along with setting his price has given him a reputation that has created consistent expectations for other GMs. Hes also established himself as a nice guy that’s not going to get pushed around so he’s getting a lot of respect there.

I still think the hardest part of the rebuild is ahead — assembling a team that can compete and win — but he’s got one of the most impressive bases to start doing that. Gonna be a tough few months to be a fan of a player. But if Calgary comes away with McKenna or stenberg in this draft, things are going to get exciting pretty quickly, even if they’re losing a lot of games.

I have no idea whether the players we traded for really make sense, but I actually have quite a lot of faith in the current managements ability to make those kinds of trades.

I wish we could have gotten a little more out of Kadri+Weegar.

That said, this was exactly the types of moves I wanted to see.

Would have still liked to see Coleman traded especially with the rumours that there were a dozen teams interested in him.

Just to get the younger defensemen playing more I am surprised and would have wanted to see one of Hanley or Paschal moved for a fourth.
