I went with a 10.
I had expected one of either Kadri or Coleman to be moved after the Rasmus trade with an outside hope both would go. When the Weeger trade occurred it was a pleasant surprise and felt like it was now a successful trade deadline. Of course the two loudest names from the Flames were still out there, and between the two I was hoping Kadri would go but if both stayed there would been enough done to deem it a success. Having Kadri dealt last minute just put it over the top.
In terms of the returns, there’s not much to complain about. I had felt perhaps Weeger would generate a 1st, but how do you turn your nose up at 3x 2nds all in the first half of round two. NYR’s pick is nearly a first anyway, with two other selections to closely follow.
There is finally some definitive direction supported on all fronts and it finally feels fun to be a Flames fan again, which has been a long time coming.

The biggest thing for me was moving Kadri and they did that. Obviously would have liked to see Coleman traded too, but that’s not nearly as urgent as Kadri was. I still feel you can get a similar return for Coleman in the offseason. 8/10 for me.
I must say I am shocked that no team met the ask for Coleman.

I don't know, try outs are hella entertaining. And that's what this stretch run is all about now.

I think the lack of a retention spot held up Coleman, I still think he goes in the summer...next deadline at the latest

I think that's simplifying things. There may have been some pretty serious back and forth before they relented.. praise Conroy lol!

I don’t think his value changes much between the summer and deadline. They got time

I need to see more out of the players we got back, especially the prospects. Don't want to get all excited and find out they are more Miromanov than they are actual players. Like the picks, but hate some of them are kicked down the road. Just means the rebiggle will take longer than we probably hope for. That 2028 pick won't see the lineup until likely 2032 - six years away. I like that Conroy focused on the center position for the prospects he got back. Now let's see them turn into something that plays in the NHL. That will increase the number.

The Flames moved out $16.8 million of Kadri's contract and his contract and $31.25 million of Weegars contract. They are both very good players / pickups today, but that is $48 million off the Flames books for two players who didn't fit the rebuild timeline and were UFA/pending UFA signings.
I'm a bit surprised Coleman didn't move, but it sounds like things shifted and the Flames made the right call in using the lone retention slot to move Kadri.
He'll likely be able to be moved this offseason / next trade deadline. If not, he was a UFA signing. He has 1 year left. Hopefully his work ethic can rub off on some of the young players.
The individual deals I gave 10s for. Overall I'd give it an 8.

But it's too big to be a rebuild. So the term "rebiggle" stands.
I gave it a 9. Would have liked to see a 1st or top prospect in the Weegar deal.
Got nothing for Lomberg, but if the offers weren't there, I'm OK with that. He's worth more than a late round pick.
With all of the good leaders who have been traded away, I'm not sure I want Coleman traded. We need someone to teach the youngsters the right attitude. At least he can provide some leadership to the team if we keep him next season until the TDL. It's not just about having veteran presence. It's about having a presence of the calibre that Coleman represents. You won't get that with a typical UFA signing.

A super solid 8.
For me, needed to have Coleman traded for it to be a 10.
Slightly didn’t get as much as I’d hoped for Weegs and Kadri, but it’s nothing to complain about. A very close 9.

Adding two young prospects and two more early-round picks today may backstop those 2nds picked up in the Weegar trade, making the Flames more open to combining some of those seconds to move up into the 1st round this year.

This amount of draft capital we have stockpiled should ensure that when Craig wants to pull the trigger, he should have the ammo to do just about anything he wants either at the draft, or in upcoming trades.

I'm extremely pleased with Conroy's approach to collect all of the early round picks, and appropriately get value for their veteran assets that aren't part of the long term plan.
Having 10 first round picks in the span of 5 years is crazy. Add that with the 2nd round capital, and it puts the Flames in a very flexible position. For a franchise that didn't appreciate the importance of building through the draft, it's exciting to see them now recognizing that's the path forward, and go all in on it. Especially with how strong the scouting staff seems to be.
These moves Conroy has made could be setting the franchise up for a very strong '30s decade. This could be the dawn of a bright future.

Very happy with this trade deadline. Great return on Kadri, good return on Weegar, and we're finally full-on rebuilding. Kadri before Coleman is absolutely the right move, and if Kadri needed the last retention spot then so be it.
I gave it a 9. Would have been good to see a couple of depth pieces moved given some of the prices, but understand that a lot of attention was needed to get the Kadri deal across the finish line.

I don’t know. There’s something unsettling when almost everyone on here is happy. Just me?

9 - Extremely happy!
CC moved the 2 most pressing contracts needed to maximize value. We got good returns when considering the the players and contracts going out. Getting 2 prospects that play C fills a hole in the prospect depth. Even if they are not premium prospects, they seem to have solid potential to be NHLers. Realistically, premium prospects are very hard to get in trades so we will have to lean on the magic beans for that.
I think the culture and leadership in the room should remain strong. Coleman never pouts or takes a shift off so he’ll continue to be a good soldier. We got a couple veterans that sound like decent leaders for young guys. They also should be motivated to make the best of their opportunities and they may be able to be used as trade chips.
We’ve obviously finally fully committed to a rebuild! I think we are bottoming out in the standings without forcing any young players into the lineup over their heads or promoting a losing culture. We’re in for some pain watching games but it’s also exciting times looking towards the future!

strong 9 for me. I love that they proactively traded two guys in their 30s with term before age really hurts their trade stock, and were willing to retain on Naz for 3 years even. Like I said in the other thread, should put some infamous/popular claims about the front office and ownership to bed, but it probably won't happen.
I think Conroy has done well. Not only has he stockpiled even more picks and added three depth prospects (Wiebe, Castagna, Curran) to the pipeline, but he's also added some veterans to the room (Whitecloud, Maatta, Strome) ... young guys will probably benefit from that, especially with another three heavy lifters out of the door. Othmann is a decent reclamation project, Strome could be flipped for a higher pick next year if he can rebound a bit.
I don't have a lot of complaints. I disliked trading with Vegas yet again, especially since we owned their 1st this year. But Whitecloud has been a great addition and there seems to be some potential with Wiebe, so I've come around. Loved the three 2nds package for Weegar, that adds a ton of flexibility for the upcoming draft. The return for Kadri was decent too, and spreading out those 1sts might actually be a good thing.
All that was missing was a Coleman trade or maybe getting a real A prospect in one of these deals, but I don't mind hanging on to Coleman a little longer and understand that those prospects are hard to come by. All in all, really good work from Craig.
