A 2026 pick would be more valuable, but I like it in the sense that there becomes a pressure to trade picks when you have a ton of them in one year. Almost a guarantee that the Flames move some of the 2nd this year.

We were a bad team before trading Andersson, Weegar, and now Kadri. Plus we lost Huberdeau. I don't think we can catch them, but it feels like we might give Van a run for their money -on paper our roster is so much worse... the only problem is Vancouver are a bunch of sucky suckers who suck, so that has really helped them tank.

I like the idea of injecting a continuous stream of high-end prospects into the system as we go. Keep the youth movement going even after we're ready to contend.
