Wow, GreenLantern got last pick twice and didn't end up with Q either time!
Like most I was hesitant to pick the former winners, even thought they're probably the best players in the game, because they'll be such huge targets. The real unknown factor with these all star seasons is how much outside the game relationships will affect things. Some of these players have probably known each other outside the game for decades now. It's probably a big advantage over the newer players, especially Rizo and Savannah, who will have had no time to get to know anyone else.
Anyway, good luck all. Hopefully this is an exciting season. 49 actually turned out to be pretty good in the end, so I have hope that the show has turned the corner on the mostly disappointing 'new era'.

In the series’ huge three-hour premiere, the first official vote went down and Jenna Lewis-Dougherty was unanimously sent home by her tribe after they decided her aggressive strategy made her a bigger threat than someone like Cirie Fields. Jenna — one of the few Season 1 legends in the cast — became the first person voted out of Survivor 50. Meanwhile, the episode also saw Season 48 winner Kyle Fraser forced out on medical grounds after suffering a severe ankle injury in the first challenge

A bit of a slog to make it through that 3 hours, a bunch of doom scrolling to get through some of the talking parts. Nice to see some of the older players but dont think most will fare well. Jenna should have known better than to be super aggressive.

I just assumed Cirie was the easy vote........horrible in the challenge they lost and also everyone knows she's tight with Ozzy. I just assumed it would be an easy vote but I guess now, was surprised to see Jenna get so many votes.

The teal tribe is going to be tough to beat in challeges. Pretty perfect mix of strength and brains.
Feel bad for Kyle but if anyone has to leave due to an injury at least its a former winner.
Had a really fun time watching the premier. It's nice to know the entire cast right away and not have to learn how they play over the first handful of episodes for the first time in a long time

On the March 4 episode of Survivor Season 50, the tribe voted out Savannah Louie, making her the latest player eliminated from the milestone season. Savannah — who won Survivor Season 49 — became an early target after her tribe grew wary of her advantages and the threat of a recent winner sticking around too long. When the Cila tribe lost immunity and went to Tribal Council, the votes stacked up quickly against her and she was sent home in a decisive vote.
With Savannahs vote, jroc and Khel take their first hit.

Not too surprising that a former winner was an early target. That's just how it goes in Survivor I think. That win will always be hanging over your head. They probably should have gone with Joe though. He's impossible to work with. There's a good chance these guys will be right back at tribal next week though, so they can punt him then.
I'd forgotten how much I hate coach. What a pompous fool. 'One day your adversary will be your enemy, and the next day your enemy will be your adversary' Shut the F up coach. Enemy and adversary mean the same thing, and even if his point was some sort of 'once an enemy always an enemy' thing, it was still a really dumb way to say that.
Two other players that I greatly disliked in the past, Genevieve and Q, have seemed more likeable this time. I gotta agree with Q that people being so lazy around camp would drive me nuts. I'm sure both players will eventually remind me why I disliked them in the past, but for now they seem ok.
Regarding my picks, Devens has had a lot of screen time, but that has a lot to do with his tribe being bad. His hiding a fake idol at tribal is awesome and I hope there is a payoff. Charlie hasn't been in it much, but his whole tribe's screen time has been dominated by coach. That tribe seems quite strong and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't lose a member for a while. Under the radar and on a strong team is a great way to play the first half of this game.
Savanah drew a tough tribe to come into with many existing relationships and being one of the two unknown players, her being the first boot was inevitable. Plus, she went on a journey and told them she got nothing and lost nothing and that she was the winner of 49....

Yeah everyone knows Survivor isn't going to send people off on a journey for nothing. You gotta throw your tribe something otherwise it just casts suspicion. Considering she was already an unknown, just another reason not to trust her. Too bad would have liked her to see stay longer.
