I dont love 3 years of retention for Kadri at all unless the return is great. I get why there would be hesitation... its too long to eat anything more than a small amount as you have no idea what your team will look like in 3.5 years. But ownership being involved in hockey ops in any way is terrible, not saying that is the case but the dreger and kypreos comments today sounded a bit like some micromanagement was going on. Give Conroy a budget and let him manage the personnel moves within it and let the experts manage what they are supposed to manage would be my hope.


If Naz is angry after the deadline not really much he can do... way too much money on the line for him to walk or risk the contract in any way. He will have to just get his head down and suck it up.

Sharks and Devils had talks on Nemec. Devils weren’t shopping him but listening on calls. Sharks offer wasn’t good enough (they had offered a 1st plus forward prospect). I believe it was Bystedt (my guess) as that was the player that was offered for Andersson. I was told 3-4 other teams put in offers but it wasn’t enough either. Sharks still having dialogue on Whitecloud (double digit teams have). Ask is high but as of tonight Sharks still chatting with Calgary (along with other teams).
