I guess if there was ever a silver lining with Trump being a liar is that he isn't actually a Christian or religious person. He's just an idiot. Then again, that isn't necessarily better.

If I had to really stretch to come up with one redeeding quality of that wretched pig it would have to be his lack of relgious belief. Although I do not think that comes from of a place of working through anything, being a deep thinker, curious about the universe or our origins, a desire for undertanding/knowledge. He's just a very simple minded, greedy, selfish pig and only cares about having power over people and obtaining money.

It's evident that he hasn't spent a single moment pondering his existance until last year when getting close to 80 and wondering if he'll "get into heaven". Hard to imagine but if he truly considered himself a christian he would be even more unhinged and loopy.

Trump could never believe in a "higher power" because it would be in opposition to his own self image of being the top dog. That he may have to pray for help or be judged by anyone, even a god, is beyond his capability to accept. There is no nuance to be found here. It's ego, all the way down.

I briefly volunteered with Cult Awareness Network in the early 90s. It was fascinating until I became an atheist as a result. CAN got sued by various cults and religious groups, they disbanded and were bought out by the Church of Scientology in ‘96 I think. One cult leads to another.
