Would you go so far as to say it’s too quiet?

Yesterday picked up after lunch/morning skates. Feels like the centre market is stalled by Thomas and St Louis a bit.

Thomas 's situation shouldn't affect anybody else. The Blues asking price is wildly overhead from what we have seen teams willing to pony up or have the assets to be involved
Kadris return is going to be significantly lower and not even in the same ballpark let alone the same area code.

St. Louis just continue to screw with us, from last years playoff to this years race to the bottom, and now blocking the trade market for centre's. God I hate that team

Was there anyone else interested in Kadri besides Colorado?

MTL, Minnesota, TB, Det, and one other have been rumored by MSM insiders.
Maybe Buffalo if Kadri is playing ball with his NTC list.

Starting to get frustrated. The Flames should be making a concerted effort to get McKenna (or at least a top 3 pick). This, more than any other move, will affect the future of the franchise, including its profitability.
Retain on Kadri. Just move him. He's the last player on the team that can change the course of a game consistently. Move Coleman too. The return isn't as important as the tank.
There's a good chance Vancouver takes Vehoeff anyways.
It's possible that Roy was the backup plan for Colorado, and there's already a deal in place for Kadri with someone else or an offer they won't match....Well I doubt the offer thing after seeing what they paid for Roy.
Anyways, just move Kadri. He's already won several games in the last few months, even if he's inconsistent. Draft position is the only thing that matters this year.

Won't be surprised if a Kadri to MTL deal could come together if they don't get what they want for Coleman
Kadri retained and possibly depth guy (Pospisil) for Picks/Prospects and Laine

How many games do you see Kadri single-handedly winning for the rest of the season?

Selling assets for pennies on the dollar in order to improve the odds of getting Mckenna by 4% by moving from 4th to 2nd (nobody is catching Vancouver) is purely nonsensical.

Oh, but if the Flames keep Kadri, they are totally finishing 17th overall and missing the playoffs by a single point again!

I don’t know the math on it but I do think the goal isn’t McKenna or bust. While obviously it’s ideal if the flames can pick 1st overall, the value in finishing 31st in the standings is less about minutely increasing the odds of picking McKenna and more about drastically increasing the odds that the flames will pick top 3/4 in the draft as opposed to picking in the 5-7range.
I agree with you point though that the flames should not sell players for cheap if they can get more value later.

We're not talking pennies on the dollar. We're talking about the difference between a late first and a slightly lesser asset.
